WASHINGTON — President Barack Obama on Saturday urged Congress to hold off on any investigation of the Fort Hood rampage until federal law enforcement and military authorities have completed their probes into the shootings at the Texas Army post, which left 13 people dead.

On an eight-day Asia trip, Obama turned his attention home and pleaded for lawmakers to "resist the temptation to turn this tragic event into the political theater." He said those who died on the nation's largest Army post deserve justice, not political stagecraft.

"The stakes are far too high," Obama said in a video and Internet address released by the White House while the president he was flying from Tokyo to Singapore, where Pacific Rim countries were meeting.

Congress isn't an investigative body, it's a political body. Let the military and FBI handle it first. After the case is tried let our congress critters have at it. With our congress critters pontificating and posturing there will be far too much pretrial pubblicity.

I'm not calling him stupid. Some people like to do that, but it's not true, he's crafty as heck.

But while he is clever enough to avoid issues he doesn't want to deal with, for example, that can only get you too far.

As in this example, he seems to think that the ultimate weapon is to delay--create a task force, a blue ribbon commission, let things drag on in court. That way, there is this constant sense of something going on, but nothing actually gets accomplished. It's a very academic way of seeing life.

Yep, they continuously put out info on Hasan's condition but I've yet to hear anything about the 31 or so people he wounded. As for the 14 dead, they are paralyzed also, they will never again run, laugh, walk, sing, hate, love or feel any emotion or sensation, the unborn child never had the chance to even experience anything out of the womb.
