More than a million low-income Massachusetts residents covered by Medicaid will be required to pay more for doctor visits and receive prior approval for some medications under a plan announced today by the Patrick administration to begin to close a $307 million shortfall in the state's MassHealth program.

1. Blowing a hole in the Mass. state budget 2. rationing "ie. prior approval" (DEATHPANELS?) 3. increases in copayments 4. low income patients affected ("govt. option" ???)
Romney’s legacy ping!
How long will the people of Massachusetts allow this travesty to continue?
MassHealth alone should make Romney a DOA candidate in ‘12.
Forever! AFAIK, socialist health care has never been repealed anywhere, no matter how bad it gets.
Just wondering if the "shortfall" is before or after rising numbers of those eligible for MassHealth because they lost their jobs . . .
And still not a whisper of trying to repeal it. Every so often a warning sign shows up in the news: a couple of hospitals on the brink of bankruptcy because of it; another hospital suing the state for inadequate payments; long waits for appointments; people who buy insurance (as mandated), get treated for something and then drop their coverage . . . but there's never any follow-up story. Not sure whether there's an official news blackout or just no reporters interested enough to pursue such things.
Of course I did hear that the state did a study and found RomneyCare was working just peachy -- vast numbers of newly insured at "negligible cost"(!!!).
Will they go to jail if they can’t pay?? Just wondering.
