WASHINGTON — First lady Michelle Obama sought to assure older women on Friday that efforts to overhaul health care won't undercut the benefits they receive through Medicare, saying her husband considers the government-run program a "sacred part of America's social safety net."
Mrs. Obama, championing the health care effort at the White House while her husband travels through Asia, said women are among those struggling the most under the current system and would benefit from health care overhaul.
She said there's been "a lot of misinformation" and she wanted to be clear that the legislation in Congress would make Medicare more stable by eliminating wasteful subsidies to private insurance and cracking down on fraud.

posted a profit of some 8 billion dollars and the amount
of fraud in the medicare/welfare system was 60 billion
dollars, doesn’t seem like the preponderance of waste
is in the insurance companies...

Anyway, with her husband whacking virtually all cancer treatments from Medicare coverage (that's what happens when you eliminate the "high priced doctors" from the system) those ol'gals will know to go armed to their next meeting with her.
Is she smoking crack while Obama's away? Plastered all over the internet and many newspapers and TV news stories it is detailed how the healthcare bill is designed to slash Medicare benefits. Even more striking, many people exist on their Medicare payments and won't get a dime cost of living - so the days of the nation's elderly resorting to eating dog and cat food are here again. Add to that the shameless support from AARP that was supposed to have been a place that championed the rights of senior citizens. No more it isn't. The only "shovel ready" jobs from Obama's stimulus package appear to be digging the graves of senior citizens when government deems it inappropriate to continue treating them. Any way you slice it, it's death panels. The nation's elderly are not stupid and they are increasing angry with this administration and with democrats who disrespect them and their families by signing on to this crap. Michelle needs to tend to her garden and dress up for the cameras - she sure doesn't have a clue about the "misinformation" she mentions.
When EXACTLY does this administration plan to go after fraud - not only in Medicare and Medicaid, but with ACORN and every other place it can be found in government?
they want more government to control our lives. this gives these hot dogs more power. that is their goal- more power to control the people. this they feel will get them re-elected because as people become helpless, they become more dependent and less independent of BIG GOVERNMENT.
