Dobbs gave up on $9M Nixed CNN pact in 'Obama birther' flap

Lou Dobbs walked away from more than $9 million when he quit CNN, ending a long-running clash that boiled over during a debate about President Obama's birth certificate, sources said yesterday.

Dobbs, who will be replaced on the network by veteran Washington political correspondent John King, abruptly announced his resignation on air Wednesday night and offered no clue about what he planned to do next.

But the beginning of the end really came in July, when CNN President Jonathan Klein told Dobbs' staff in a memo to drop so-called birther stories about conspiratorial doubts that Obama was US-born, sources told The Post.

CNN is only as good as their people and CNN lost this time, though they probably don't know it. Regardless, they violated a basic rule of business.

I got my haircut this morning. I go to that shop because she is there and knows what she's doing, not because the shop knows how to cut my hair. If she leaves or is fired, the shop loses me as a customer.

Dobbs was my only reason for watching CNN.

I caught that TV clip, too, where Obama said he grew up in Hawaii. Why would he not say he was BORN AND grew up there? This matter is not over, especially because Obama has just brought in the lawyer who has been defending the eligibility issue to the WH.

Dobbs will likely get into politics now.

Dobbs was the only reason I ever watched CNN, and even then, it was a recording to give me something to watch when BO or Whoreoldo was on.

What really happened was Klein told Dobbs to shut the hell up about a long form because the state of Hawaii destroyed all paper long forms when they went digital ... which is a boldfaced lie by Jon Klein. Klein forced Dobbs to tell that same lie on-air. The scum Klein tried to make a liar out of Lou and Lou decided his integrity was more valuable than the smarmy media petting and subsequent money leash from the liar, Jon Klein. Klein is a lying suckup obammy sycophant. Period.
