I’m not sure it’s a “win” but I’m guessing that CNN refused to provide the security necessary to protect him.
Funny how more and more commentators are in need of protective details here from the tolerant, respectful and diversity minded left.

The liberals felt he had too much free speech, and demanded he be fired for his disobedience. They've been trying to censor him for quite a while, and maybe he finally got tired of their deadly threats and fascism.
I wouldn't be surprised to find out he's been hired by FOX business. He would be able to express himself freely there. This may be the best thing that ever happened to him in the end. If FOX doesn't hire him, at least he's now a free man.

From what I understand, he was one of their two top rated shows, too. CNN lost big with this one.
My Opinion:
Lou Dobbs has recognized that battle lines between the collectivists and individualists in the media are being drawn as we speak and realized he may be on the wrong network.
As much as they proclaim to value diversity in opinion, CNN does not practice what they preach.
And the great story that is never reported by the MSM is that Mrs. Dobbs is from Mexico.
La Raza must consider her a "sellout."
He made it pretty clear why he was leaving, and he made novmention of security issues. Why do you all assume he was not forthright about his reasons for leaving? Duh.
There was obvious pressure from the White House on CNN, a state-run cable channel, to fire him and make him promise that he would not say why.
