Defending the decision of the United States to drop nuclear weapons on Hiroshima and Nagasaki during WWII is not a comfortable thing to do when you're in Japan. But if you're President of the United States, you must do it. Diplomatically, yes. With sympathy for the civilian victims, yes. But you must do it.
But when it came time today for Barack Obama to do so, he failed in that fundamental duty. The very first reporter [from Fuji TV] called on at the joint press conference with PBO and Japanese PM Hatayama in Tokyo today put the question to Pres. Obama in blunt and explicit terms:
JAPANESE REPORTER: What is your understanding of the historical meaning of the A-bombing in Hiroshima and Nagasaki? Do you think it was the right decision?
Obama took a deep breath, paused . . . and punted . . .

Obama fails to defend nuking of Japan ping to Today show list.
yeah well, whatever. I never expected him to. He’s shown what he’s made of - gelatin. Or Silly Putty - can be molded and stretched into whatever George Soros and his other handlers want him to be.
WORST PRESIDENT EVER.
Obama: an utter shame to his (well, maybe) nation and the single biggest fomenter of trouble for the world economy short of the the Black Death (hey, maybe that could be his nickname if he has his way with the capitalist system).
Present!
A useless, useless person.

What a disappointment..... drip, drip, drip
A rhetorical question, I presume.

The proper response would have been "It was an excellent decision. It saved the lives of a million Americans and also the lives of TENS OF MILLIONS of Japanese".
A non-answer was probably better than his typical apology. However, it was an unsatisfactory response for America. This man is a disgrace.
NO SURPRISE from that libtard citizen of the world ectoplasm!
In a normal world this guy would be a joke ,a caricature
Obama sympathizes with all those who attack America....
The proper response is “If Japan had the weapon first and it could have turned the tide and won the war for them, would they have used it on the US?”.
It’s not hard to understand ‘why’ if you understand the ‘cloth’ that he’s made out of.
ZERO views himself not as past Presidents have. Those who have viewed themselves as a continuation of ‘American Exceptionalism’ (although to a much lesser degree shown in past Democrat Presidents like Carter and Clinton).
No. ZERO views himself as being something completly ‘different’ and ‘representing a complete break’ with that belief. Thereby ‘rejecting’ the past view of what represented American Exceptionalism - and interjection his own ‘view’, i.e. all of the APOLOGIZING’ he has embarked on for perceived ‘WRONGS’ by him and anti-Americans throughout the world.
Be nice to have a POTUS who could make a decision. How hard is it to look them straight in the eye and say “Yes. Your government and people made a terrible mistake. We fixed it.”
