Accused Sept. 11 mastermind Khalid Sheikh Mohammed and four other Guantanamo Bay detainees will be sent to New York to face trial in a civilian federal court, an Obama administration official told The Associated Press on Friday.
The official said that Attorney General Eric Holder is scheduled to announce the decision later Friday morning.
The official was not authorized to discuss the decision before the announcement and was speaking on condition of anonymity.

The administration has already sent one Guantanamo detainee, Ahmed Ghailani, to New York to face trial, but chose not to seek death in that case.***
If it was Military Tribunal then Obama would have to sign off on the death warrant if that's the sentence but in Civilian Federal Court he gets to avoid it.
Obama is not about protecting the US, he's a traitor.
The Courts will spring him for forced confessions by waterboarding.
NY Court = A large speaking platform for the Jihadists, and boom for the Alphabet MSM ratings. The Putz running this country should be run out.
Guess Khalid’s first act will be to give a shout out to Hasan and the second act will be to give a shout out to Obama.
Are the detainees going to trial so we can have case law to refer to when we try Hasan for his crimes at Ft. Hood? Is there a rush to set precedent? The timing seems fishy to me. Expect political correctness to invade the courtroom while Islamic law takes over our judicial system.
It infuriates me. But doesn’t surprise me. Obama said in his book, when the political winds shift, he would stand Muslim. It’s ALL about protecting Muslims, not American citizens.

I figure, somewhere down the lne we will cut them loose and pay them for their time they spent in Gitmo.

A liberal judge will surely try to make the waterboarding into a major issue....again, so the MSM can rail againt Bush while Obama sits on the sidelines and pushes his agenda in congress.
