Sources tells CBS News that investigators are continuing to look for any possible ties between the alleged Fort Hood shooter, Major Nidal Malik Hasan, and terrorist groups including the Muslim Brotherhood, an affiliate of Hamas.
The Muslim Brotherhood operates behind the scenes in the United States and seeks to subtly place individuals into influential positions in the academic, legal or medical professions to further their cause of undermining the United States.
So far all investigations of Hasan have indicated that he acted alone, without support or direction from any outside group. Stories published this week indicated that Hasan had been in contact with al Qaeda, but further reporting revealed that Hasan had only been in contact with an imam at a mosque he sometimes attended, who had expressed support for al Qaeda - and that Hasan had approached the cleric with questions for a research paper.
Investigators are now also looking at whether Hasan was supporting Islamic charities overseas. Some such charities have been found to funnel money to terrorist organizations.
Earlier Thursday, President Barack Obama has ordered a review of all intelligence related to Fort Hood shooting suspect Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan, and whether the information was properly shared and acted upon within government agencies.(continued)

He should be hung in a public square with a barbed wire noose.
FBI,
” We couldn`t find his Al-Qaeda union card so yup, just a guy who snapped that`s all. Move along people nothing to see here, all random”
They’re really doing some gymnastics here.
Hasan didn’t act alone, he went to the mosque regularly.
Unless and until we ban Islam from our land, this war will never cease.
They've been at it .. how many years? .. centuries?
And they won’t find it with their heads in the sand.
Yea, what “group” was Tim McVeigh a member of? He is commonly cited as a “home grown terrorist”. How can you define the word “terror” or “terrorist” or “terrorist act” in any way that does not include the Ft. Hood massacre?
I hope I’m right about that being a rhetorical question, because I can’t answer it. I’m not a gymnast. ; )
One particularly insidious concern that touches all forms of domestic extremism is the lone offendera single individual driven to hateful attacks based on a particular set of beliefs without a larger groups knowledge or support. In some cases, these lone offenders may have tried to join a group but were kicked out for being too radical or simply left the group because they felt it wasnt extreme or violent enough. We believe most domestic attacks are carried out by lone offenders to promote their own grievances and agendas.
As with all forms of extremism, preventing homegrown attacks before they are hatched is our overriding goal. Its an especially tall order given the civil liberties we all enjoy as American citizens, including the right to free speech. Hate and anger are not crimes; neither are hard-line and poisonous ideologies. Its only when actions by groups or individuals cross the line into threats, the actual use of force or violence, or other law-breaking activities that we can investigate. That goes for lone offenders, whose high degrees of autonomy make them difficult to stop before they strike.
As a result, were not shy about applying our full suite of anti-terror tools and capabilities to threats of homegrown terrorism. That includes our time-tested investigative techniques such as the use of surveillance and informants as well as the new intelligence skills and information-sharing channels weve cultivated since 9/11.
If they don’t find a connection to a terrorist group, isn’t that even scarier. Home-grown terrorists that don’t need training or support are probably all over the place.
There are two very damning things IMO. While working on his thesis, he was contacting known terrorists on foreign soil.
Then there’s the little mention on his business cards found at home, that he was a WFA, or some such. The initials meant he was a warrior for Allah.
How do you ignore that, to state he had no known connections to terrorist groups?
This guy was a card carrying warrior of Allah. Does that tell them nothing?
In this case, though, there isn’t the rubble of a bombed building to hurriedly dispose of.
They pray that no link will be found and, if found, they will delay until every other “news” source has revealed so.
CBS = Constant Bull S**t
The FBI claims it cut formal contacts with CAIR after federal prosecutors in the 2007 criminal trial of officers of a Texas-based Islamic charity, the Holy Land Foundation for Relief and Development, introduced documents the government said showed links between CAIR and the Muslim Brotherhood, which gave rise to Hamas.
Until we can resolve whether there continues to be a connection between CAIR or its executives and HAMAS, the FBI does not view CAIR as an appropriate liaison partner, FBI Congressional liaison Richard Powers wrote in an April letter to Senator Jon Kyl (R-Ariz.).

Interesting to look out, but look inward at his superiors, promotion boards, FBI, DIA, NSA, CIA, ETC who failed to protect us from the first successful Islamic domestic terrorist since 9/11/01. All trails lead to NAMEs. Prosecute them to the fullest extent of the law.
Anwar al-Aulaqi / Anwar al-Awlaki / Anwar al Alwaki is "just an imam?"
Just an imam whose move from San Diego to the terrorist-infested mosque in Falls Church matched the same move to the same mosque by two 9/11 hijackers.
Just happens to be the same mosque where imam al Timimi, Randal Royer of CAIR, KWON and other terror convicts attended.
2ID you are right.
Of course they will...they are prepared to sweep much larger attacks under the rug. This is just practice.
It's the only way the Obama administration could politically survive terror attacks in the US. Blame it on anything but Muslim terrorism or ignore it. The MSM is more than happy to help.
