The Real Issue in the Carrie Prejean Fiasco (It's not about her; it's the Left's demonization)

Some readers have asked if -- with the release of topless photos and now a solo sex tape -- conservatives, or Christians, or conservative Christians, should consider former Miss California Carrie Prejean a role model. The question strikes me as off-base, a hybrid of the cult of hero worship and the 24/7 media's information overload.
The underlying issue in the Prejean case is not -- or at least, it has never been for me -- one of the pageant (near-)winner’s character or admirability. It's a simple matter of the Left's aggressive politicization of every aspect of life, including beauty pageants and football.

Not every book has merit or is factual. Just look at Prezzy Obama’s two books. Which won him grammys.

Do you think that the hounding that Carrie Prejean is warranted and validated because she took a personal stand against same sex marriage?
Because we KNOW that is what is driving this witchhunt.

My point is she is going out of her way to keep this witchhunt going by her own actions. Doesn’t that strike you as a bit odd? She is also getting caught up in her own continual lying. (Have you heard how many different stories have come out about her sex tapes just in the last two days?)If the woman is what she professes to be she would
get off the tube for a while and get on with her career.

My original point. That is why I couldn’t understand what a 22 year old beauty pageant contestant would have to say to justify a serious book.

A sex tape would require “tape”. There is no tape. A file perhaps but no tape. Legalism, yes. But facts are facts.

I think she was doing fine, at first, and then it became too much all about her rather than conservative principles. She is young, but she could have used some better advisors to steer her clear of becoming a punching bag. Debbie Schlussel’s article on her was merciless. I wish her good luck, nonetheless.

I heard the liberal professor ask the rhetorical question in regards to those opposed to same-sex marriage on Hannity, “What century is this?” I found that to be a profound philosophical question. Chronologically, we are in the twenty-first century, but in terms of ethics or morality, we are living in a Pre-Christian era. Homosexuality was accepted in non-Christian, non-Israelite societies as “normal,” as was pedophilia. There were no limitations when it came to sexual activity. Everything was allowed: men, women, children, animals, etc. It was Christianity that taught that sexual intercourse was only allowed within a heterosexual, monogamous, life-long union.
Once someone rejects Christian ethics, everything is permitted.
