PLYMOUTH, Mass. -- As family and friends mourn a fallen U.S. paratrooper on Veteran's Day, his mother made an emotional plea to President Barack Obama that it's time to either bring home the troops or end the war in Afghanistan.

The body of Benjamin Sherman, 21, was recovered in Afghanistan Tuesday.

"It's time we do something. This has gone on too long. They either need to come home or we need to end it," a tearful Denise Sherman said.

A beautiful and articulate plea from a wonderful and loving mother heartbroken over the loss of her son(a hero) and heartbroken over the offensive indecisiveness of the holder of the office.

Again I say that our American women, especially mothers, are raising their voices and fearlessly taking a stand and putting our leaders to shame in so many instances in present day America.

"What manner of men are these who wear the maroon beret?

They are, firstly, all volunteers and are toughened by hard physical training. As a result they have that infectious optimism and that offensive eagerness which comes from physical well being. They have "jumped" from the air and by so doing have conquered fear.

Their duty lies in the van of the battle; they are proud of this honour and have never failed in any task. They have the highest standards in all things whether it be skill in Battle or smartness in the execution of all peacetime duties. They have shown themselves to be as tenacious and determined in defence as they are courageous in the attack. They are, in fact, men apart -- every man an Emperor.

Of all the factors which make for success in battle the spirit of the warrior is the most decisive. That spirit can be found in full measure in the men who wear the maroon beret.

- Field Marshall The Viscount Montgomery of El Alamein

It is war.

The ONLY sane way to wage war is to bring the hammer down and America, at least for now, still has a very big hammer.

Quick and brutal, ironically is the most humane path.

Sherman was on his second tour of duty when he disappeared in Afghanistan last week during a mission to resupply troops in the western part of the country. He was a paratrooper with the 4th Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division, based in Fort Bragg, N.C.

His family said Sherman jumped into a river to try to help another soldier when both were swept away. He was missing for about a week.

Bravery is found not only on the battlefield.

She's 100% correct.

The U.S. military campaign in Afghanistan has now lasted more than twice as long as our involvement in World War II. And we're talking about an "enemy" that is one small step out of the Stone Age, for crying out loud.

1) Bring our people home.

2) Carpet bomb the entire surface area of that Godforsaken cat box on our way out while declaring victory.

3) Impeach the fraudulent CiC.

4) Try the Reids, Murthas, and others who gave aid and comfort to the enemy for treason.

5) Hang them the day after being found guilty.

6) Not sure what to do with the Kenyan. Depends on what state has juristiction for an illegal alien impersonating the American CiC and what their capital punishment mechanism is.

All you ‘under thirty’ types who thought it would be ‘cool’ to vote for Obama must be sooooooo proud right about now.

She said: Make a decision. end it or bring them home. It has been too long.

She’s right. Obama dithers while our military die. More families should speak up and out. God bless that family and may they take comfort in the fact their son was a real hero for trying to save another person’s life while putting his own at risk. That’s a REAL man.

I agree, we should end it, we should withdraw from Afthanistan. And Iraq. At the same time.

By way of Tehran.
