Very much so, I think.

If memory serves, the ones without health insurance are our children (ages 21-35, I think) and illegals.

Now, the current federal law already requires Emergency Rooms to treat the uninsured. Young, old ... legal, illegal.

We do not put illegals in jail for violating immigration laws ... why would we for healthcare?

Fascist reasoning in her mind and this bill.

Technically we have placed out children and grand-children in Debtors Prison with the deficits run by both former President Bush and now President Obama. They are the ones who will really be paying it back.

Re the ACLU, you posted this reality: “If it serves to undermine the traditional values of Western Culture, we side with it.”

That has been the ACLU's reality for decades. It will be interesting to see if they survive the economic meltdown that they have helped to bring to America with their anti America actions.

Pelosi is an idiot...vacant mentally. However, she only has about 11 months left as majority anything....then she'll be - for the most part - irrelevant.

I truly wonder if there are any US Senators that read anything on this site?

If they do, here are the things that need doing for a cure to the health care mess.

1. Meaningful medical tort reform. Rigid and low caps on compensation due to medical screw ups. Let the marketplace deal with incompetent care givers.

2. Insurance companies can offer their services nation-wide. No limitations on state borders.

3. ALL repeat ALL "pre-existing" conditions are covered...and with no increase in premiums and no waiting period.

4. Clean up the waste and duplication in the provisioning and administration of medical care. The current administration braggs they can find over 1/2 BILLION $$s of waste now. OK...find it and fix it....NOW

5. Get the Federal Government out of health care/health insurance....period.

6. Tax breaks for companies that offer medical insurance to employees, temps, contractors, interns. The more "employees" covered, the higher the tax breaks.

7. Serious, substantial tax breaks for companies hiring legal, American workers (non-union). This leads to medical care for more people.

7a. Severe tax and legal penalties for those companies hiring illegals (of any kind). The legal penalties (read: prison time) are levied against the management of the company.

8. Federal oversite (by a cabinet officer) of the medical insurance industry. If their rates don't drop due to the decrease in the costs of medical care/administraion, then the insurance company can be brought up on federal charges for fraud and corruption.

9. A continual review of medical insurance premiums by a board of reviewers comprised of 4 doctors, 4 small business leaders, and a cabinet officer. This board will meet in public and all reviews will be published.

10. NO...repeat NO....federal funds for abortions of any kind or for any reason. Let the states deal with abortions.

Did I miss anything?

The Obama campaign lied brazenly, shamelessly, and endlessly about their health care plans during the 2008 election when they said “if you like your health insurance you can keep it.” You cannot keep your current plan under the bill passed by the House. As soon as any contract term in your current plan changes, you are forced to buy a qualified plan at 2-3 times the cost of the insurance plan you have now. The insurance companies change those contract terms every year, so everyone who buys their own health insurance will lose their current insurance policy within a year. The campaign statement that “if you like your health insurance you can keep it” was the Big Lie of the 2008 Obama campaign. They never intended for anyone to keep their current insurance plans, and they’ve had the goal of a complete government takeover of the health care system from the beginning. Brazen, bald-faced lying is just a means to ends for hard core socialists.

Pelosi will be proven wrong when the senate refuses to pass anything remotely resembling the monstrous PelosiCare bill. The senate should kill the whole thing and just expand Medicaid. I want this administration and congress to get its filthy paws out of my personal business and leave my health insurance plan and my premiums the way they are now. I don’t need a Cadillac health insurance policy and I don’t want to pay triple my current premiums for a “qualified” Cadillac plan that I don’t need.

United States vs Reynolds. Coercing citizens to enter into a contract creates a “Wheel of Servitude” and violates the 13th Amendment.

Question: What happens to Christian Scientists and others who believe in prayer over medicine?

Speaking only for myself -- they will have to kill me.

I refuse to purchase their unconstitutional health care or pay the fines for so doing and I damn sure will not go along peacefully to their prisons.

[Pelosi is so full of crap ... she is attempting to justify the jail term for NOT getting health insurance because those without health insurance push their costs on to others ...]

So, once you are in prison, the government is required to provide for your food, housing, clothing and HEALTH CARE! So, her own bill will “push their costs on to others,” which she says she doesn’t like people doing?!? Huh!?!?

Does she even see the stupidity in this endeavor? This is JUST like debtor’s prison:
Police: We are going to throw you in jail because you aren’t paying your bills.
Debtor: Then how will I make money to pay my bills?
Police: Don’t ask stupid questions, this is a fair way to handle the situation!

Stupidity reigns supreme in Washington, D.C.

Have you ever heard the word “nullification”? Are you aware of the history of the Fugitive slave act or the Alien and Sedition act? Are you familiar with the Kentucky and Virginia Resolutions of 1798? We’ve got a number of options left to us. Will we use them or will we just shrug under the chains?

Citizen Nullification

I have been passing that link around for a few days now. Citizens have the power to just refuse in large numbers, and make it null and void.

And if this new legislation means big brother gets to decide who gets healthcare...hmm, loophole for locking up dissenters?

Pelosi and Reid both have definite anti-social, narcissistic personalities. When you watch them talk to the news media and the public, they don't converse with people. Instead they make speeches, lecture people, and tell people what they're going to do, with an attitude of superiority. Pelosi especially appears to believe she's wiser than everyone else and that her concept of morality is superior to that of the 75% of Americans who don't want this radical health care reform and more massive federal bureaucracies. I get the impression she knows basically nothing about economics and business, and has no clue about how government control rapidly degrades the quality of health care systems and leads to long waiting times and rationing. She's a wealthy narcissistic idiot who seems to think the average American family can afford to spend $10,000 per year on government-approved Cadillac health care plans.

One thing that just astounds me about this PelosiCare bill is that the democrats don't seem to understand how these mandated high-cost health care plans connect into the mortgage crisis and would greatly increase the number of mortgage defaults and foreclosures. If required to spend $10K on health insurance or go without insurance, many people wouldn't be able to pay their mortgages and would end up in foreclosure. This is so obvious, and yet the airhead Pelosi and her staffers can't figure it out because they know nothing about economics. These liberals in congress have got to learn that government helps the economy by doing LESS and not by doing MORE. If government intrusion and control of the economy continues to increase, our economy will continue to decline and underperform its potential. This is because government control drives up business costs and creates risks and uncertainties for business people, which cause them to reduce hiring and capital investment.

[[We still have civil disobedience and then finally the second amendment. Remember its “consent of the governed.”

Whether or not citizens go those routes remains to be seen.]]

It’s not likely people will stand for anything- Lawyers should be jumping all over these proposals, and suing our government for violating people’s constitutional rights, and demanding that htose who wrote and support this bill be prosecuted for crimes against the people, but so far, noone is making much of a squack about this. This bill amounts to extortion, and coersion by the powerful against hte powerless- they are abusing hteir positions, and htis is precisely what the English fled in England, and here we are againm, right back where we started- the powerful lording it over hte powerless.

This is a sad sad legacy we’re leavign behind, and this US is no logner the ocne great and free nation we grew up in. The democrats could not wait to get in power to destroy the America we’ve come to love and admire. I only hope when they get kicked out on ther rearends in the gutter where they belong, that we can undo the harm these fascists have doen to this coutnry

[[This is more to the point. The cage we are being put into is narrowing and since we can’t seem to back out, then we will either have to break out or live there.]]

Unfortunately we ARE goignto just live there- We’ve been doing so for a couple of decades as the government has stolen more and more constitutional rights from us- We just accept it and cross our fingers hoping it won’t ‘get too bad’ in ‘the future’, and because we’ve not been willign to stand up for our rights, the government has correctly viewed that as weakness and has exploited our unwillingness to take a stand agaisnt their tyranny
