FBI: Ft. Hood Shooter Had Jihadist Connections

Americans continue to wonder whether the terrorist rampage at Fort Hood could have been prevented.

What did government agencies know about Nidal Malik Hasan, and when did they know it? And how deep were Hasan’s jihadist connections overseas?

In this post-9/11 world, it seems hard to believe. Details are emerging that U.S. government agencies knew about Hasan’s contacts with Islamic radicals linked to al Qaeda -- and concluded that those contacts did not pose a threat to America’s national security.

For months, federal investigators monitored Hasan’s e-mail correspondence with Anwar al-Awalki, an al Qaeda recruiter living in Yemen who has been linked to three of the 9/11 hijackers.

“Awlaki is known as a senior recruiter for al Qaeda. He clearly has the ability to convince people to kill others and perhaps even kill themselves,” former FBI agent Brad Garrett said.

The FBI passed information about Hasan’s contact with al-Awalki to a terrorism investigator at the Department of Defense.

The investigator’s verdict? Hasan had contacted al-Awalki as part of a research paper he was working on about the effects of combat on U.S. soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan. Therefore, he did not merit any further attention.

Ah, so the FBI finally ditches their "not a terrorist attack" LIE, and catches up with the American people.

I simply cannot wait until these dumb-asses take over our medical system.

The rock and hard spot is this,,,,, If we consider him a Jihadist we will be tried under a civilian court as a criminal (Ramzi Yousef); if a military criminal it will be handled by the military. Which means the death penalty.

Which do you prefer?

“I simply cannot wait until these dumb-asses take over our medical system.”

I’m letting them put me in jail for it. Look at it this way....I will get my health care free, free food, free board and I won’t be paying property taxes. Best of all, I get to stick them for 50k a year in upkeep. I hope we bankrupt these thugs.

US security is a joke. The airport security assholes confiscate toothpaste from 90 year old women, and do nothing with animals with terrorist connections.

Yea but with the gay “diversity” and “don’t ask don’t tell,” philosophy in this country, you don’t know who your cell mate will be.

That is a risk...LOL. I figure I’d address that with “Hi. All my friends call me ‘AIDS bag’”....I’m thinking that may buy me out of it.

If he were a civilian your analysis might hold water but since he is an active duty member of the military and his actions occured on a military post, the UCMJ holds reign for prosecution before the civilian courts get any chance at him. That is unless Obama intervenes and convinces Casey otherwise.

It’s nice to speculate about all this, but the bottom line is that the government, represented by the FBI and Homeland “Security,” would much rather have innocent Americans murdered than say anything truthful about the murdering bunch of middle eastern fanatics who belong to the death cult.

We are innocent lambs, sacrificed on the altar of political correctness.

If he’s tried as a civilian he committed mass murder in Texas so he gets executed and in fact goes to the head of the line.
