Oh yah? I made it from Reno to Eureka on I-80, and, well, a couple paved cow paths.

After being 1st on last weeks thread and and scoring a season low 153 points I thought I’d let others, like yourself, grab all the early posting bad karma.

Besides, I had to do the dishes.

I’d gladly take 153 if I didn’t have to do the dishes.

One of my uncles was on a ship docked in Pearl Harbor when the Japanese attacked. He never would talk about the war, but after he died we found he had been awarded a medal for repeatedly going back onboard to haul injured sailors off the burning ship after it was bombed. My aunt made copies of the newspaper stories because we had always been asking about this incident. This was really the greatest generation. I only hope I will live to see a generation that is as great.

It’s not so bad but Mrs. Happydog gets mad when she catches me not using soap.

I’ve got snow for you - but you’ll have to look during the day:

Those that paid so dearly for what we freely give away today.

May the Lord Bless them All.

We lived next door to a Pearl Harbor survivor and his wife told us he drank to drown the memory of watching his childhood friend die next to him on a ship. They had enlisted together. His son became a SEAL in Vietnam and came home to work for the VA in DC and he was near the top when he retired. He had attended the Academy prior to being a SEAL...

I am glad that my father and my uncle are not alive to witness what is happening today. They would truly be disgusted. Go Mark!

Dad flew for the Navy in WWII. Wasn’t drafted... joined out of personal desire to serve. Bless em all. Indeed, the greatest generation.

May God Bless them all, indeed.

It saddens me that most Gen X’ers & Y’ers have no heros or historical perspective of the ideals that made this great country great. Thank God for those that still do and for those who did serve naturally out of sense of duty and love for family and country.

My once cast iron stomachs turns to rust when I try to read this Psycho Babble from Frenchy so someone else will need to read it and after neutralizing it with a ton of Tums spoon feed it to me. On the surface it sounds a lot like "no child left behind"...

My dad is 86 and going downhill with Alzheimers. He was an Electricians Mate on a sub during WW2. He told us a few stories, but mostly just looked away when people talked about the war.

They grew men back then. I pray for our nation's youth today!
