Now Lou Dobbs really is Mr. Independent.
The last of CNN's original news anchors just announced he is leaving the network he joined in 1980, and this evening's episode of "Lou Dobbs Tonight" will be its final broadcast. Dobbs revealed his motives in a straight-forward statement at the program's opening:
Over the past six months, it's become increasingly clear that strong winds of change have begun buffeting this country and affecting all of us. And some leaders in media, politics and business have been urging me to go beyond the role here at CNN and to engage in constructive problem solving.
He said chief among his concerns would be illegal immigration, America's foreign policy, and defending our now weakened capitalist economy. The former host of Moneyline added that he sought contractual release to address these issues "in the most honest and direct language possible," an opaque admission of what everyone already knew: Dobbs's views are increasingly out-of-step with CNN's dominant bias.
Translated into plain English, his statement says:

Dobbs was the only reason to ever watch CNN. If he goes to Fox, he could replace Sheppie, Whorealdo or BOR and Fox would be the better for it. Any of those three would feel more at home at CNN than they do at Fox, though their egos would miss the audience they get at Fox.

They should dump Jerry Rivers even if they don’t pick up Lou. I’m personally tired of seeing his face on my screen.

Fox should dump Geraldo and take Dobbs.
Replay his business show 10PM on Jerry Rivers spot.
Then drop Shep Smith. Play Dobbs live at 7PM Mon-Fri

Dobbs was tired of working for this commie homo, after 30 years you would think they would give him some autonomy, instead they made him clear every thing with the homosexual President of CNN.

That would be a start! But I would also look at the people on Fox from 11 am to 4 PM. John Scott is OK, but Jane Skinner and Martha M are a couple of Lefty`s. Then you have Shep, who for some reason makes 8 million bucks a year?? I do not get it.
Heraldo is an embarrassment, I agree! I do not understand why they refuse to have a true Conservative with his/her own show, aside from Hannity. Fox is labeled as a right wing network, but aside from Hannity,I am unaware of any right wingers?

Lou Dobbs was the only reason I watched cnn for his 1 hour a day. He made the far left crazy with his common sense daggers and big smile. He would be a perfect fit For the 7pm slot on Fox. Shep's gomer pyle act is getting old.

I wonder if that shot at his house chased him off the air?

Sounds like he is considering running for office.

“Dobbs was the only reason to ever watch CNN.”
Not the only one. There is always “waiting for a flight.”
