Barack Obama's speech commemorating Veterans Day at Arlinton Cemetery this morning was received with stony silence by those in attendance.
What should have been applause lines for Obama about caring for our veterans drew no cheers, no clapping and no 'hooahs'.
There was no Prince-concert-squealing for Obama like there was yesterday at the Fort Hood memorial service. In fact there was no cheering at all for the commander-in-chief in a time of war. Just polite, subdued applause when Obama was introduced and when he conluded his speech.
In contrast, a randomly selected Veterans Day speech by President George W. Bush shows numerous interruptions for applause.
A transcript of Bush's 2004 speech includes notations of eight interruptions for applause before the final notation of applause at the conclusion of his speech.

Can this link be posted with this article? This shows the complete *lack* of response from the audience. I’ve never seen anything like it.
bttt
I have noticed for some time now that any applause for the President is offered only by a few. People of this country, I hope, are waking up.
That makes my day.
Personally, I was hoping people would shout disparaging remarks at him during the speech.
Obviously our fighting men and women have more class than I do.
Thank you all for your service.
I have today off, but the weather is dreary, damp and windy. So I have been sitting here at this PC reading news articles. What a horrible combination.
This country is in desperate shape and well on its way down the same path as Venezuela, Argentina, Brazil, post WWI Germany and pre Stalin Russia. I never understood how the tyrants subjugated these people so efficiently, until recently. Now, I am getting a first hand lesson as seemingly intelligent people march lock step in a hypnotic trance toward oblivion behind a political “Pied Piper,” who is so visibly attempting to destroy their country and their freedoms. After growing up in the best country ever known where the world’s immigrants flocked to join us, I now see the insanity of our country rejecting itself and racing to merge with those who have nothing to offer but hate, violent mind control, Jihad and brutal subjugation. It is pure insanity to watch rats butcher and enslave lions.
The current pace of change has been so rapid that I fear the country is lost before the people ever understand what has been happening. There are three pillars of our government - Executive, Legislative and Judicial. There is an oversight function that is supposed to be represented by the press, and there are two major political parties. All are dominated by people, who in prior generations would have been considered our enemy, and who are currently funded by international financial syndicates bent on destroying the USA.
What, he was unable to pack some worshippers into the crowd in order to make it all about him, like he did with the Fort Hood memorial? He didn’t plan ahead this time in order to use our heroes for another photo-op?
Was attendance required? I think I would have stood and turned my back in protest.
Good. I hope the message continues loud and clear we don’t want the traitor in the WH.
I share your dismay.

“Obviously our fighting men and women have more class than I do.”
I would be with you shouting at that lying POS odumbo.
God Bless our Military
i had said for years that the enemies of this country would defeat it from within....many people over those years told me i was crazy and that it would never happen...
well i ask them all, what is happening to your country now right before your very eyes...??
They know this president does not support them.
They see their companions dieing in Afghanistan and know this man is NOT working to correct the problem.
They saw through his “let’s not jump to conclusions” and it’s meaning.
I wouldn't have put it so politely. Frankly I can't stand that boob belt.
Wow! Squealing at a memorial service? This happened?
I didn't see or hear the speech and was unaware that there was this type of reaction from the audience. I would have assumed that the behavior of the attendees would have been far more somber.
Is it possible that Obots were planted in the audience?
“...no Prince-concert-squealing for Obama like there was yesterday at the Fort Hood memorial service.”
That display was disgraceful. No doubt BO’s cult was responsible for that most inappropriate outburst. I’m surprised he didn’t respond with a “shout out” to his voters, with the empty boots and helmets of the murdered as a backdrop for this P.C. president.
I too woke up to a rainy day off...And it is depressing to see what is happening. I work with the majority being Libs. This week is focus on ‘open enrollment’ for our insurance benefits. There is NO discussion about the takeover of healthcare ...they are oblivious! There was NO discussion or outrage about FT Hood.
Most Americans are UNAWARE.
Your post was excellant...Pied Piper followers is what I see every day..”Ha.. Ha.. we are happy..Hopy-Changy tra la la” It is surreal.
Can you imagine an American Major during WWII saying,”Yeah, the Nazis are right. We shouldn’t go over there and try to defeat them. I’m a Nazi first, American second.”....That is how bizzare it is now.
Why cheer???? This fraud has not supported the troops in the field, refuses to listen to his commanders, supports that ass hat General Casey. Veterans day is just an unavoidable duty for him. Carter was a better Comander in Chief and Jimmy was a disaster.
The hell with him!

On a less solemn occasion, I hope to someday see the audience stand up, present their backs for a moment and then walk out. That would be priceless.
The applause sign next to TOTUS must be on the fritz.
