Barack Obama's speech commemorating Veterans Day at Arlinton Cemetery this morning was received with stony silence by those in attendance.
What should have been applause lines for Obama about caring for our veterans drew no cheers, no clapping and no 'hooahs'.
There was no Prince-concert-squealing for Obama like there was yesterday at the Fort Hood memorial service. In fact there was no cheering at all for the commander-in-chief in a time of war. Just polite, subdued applause when Obama was introduced and when he conluded his speech.
In contrast, a randomly selected Veterans Day speech by President George W. Bush shows numerous interruptions for applause.
A transcript of Bush's 2004 speech includes notations of eight interruptions for applause before the final notation of applause at the conclusion of his speech.

Can this link be posted with this article? This shows the complete *lack* of response from the audience. I’ve never seen anything like it.
Done, thanks!
Do you have any links to the speeches given by GW, when he was president - for comparison??
There are three pillars of our government - Executive, Legislative and Judicial. There is an oversight function that is supposed to be represented by the press, and there are two major political parties. All are dominated by people, who in prior generations would have been considered our enemy, and who are currently funded by international financial syndicates bent on destroying the USA.
As succinct a description of our current state of affairs as I've ever seen!
Watching it now. Thanks for the link.
“built the greatest middle class the world has ever known” has no business in this speech. That is not what Veterans Days is about.
For many Veteran’s Day is another day of (fill in your misery here). I am not minmizing the situations he mentioned, the statement was out of place.
He did NOT/would not/ could not say George Washington’s name. Referred to him as “Our first Commander in Chief.” not “George Washington, our first Commander in Chief”
Slams America again. We “betrayed that sacred trust.” Then, this friend of Bill Ayers, uses the way HIS BUDDIES treated our Viet Nam Vets. Disgusting. This should be the headline from the speech. Not WE. THEY, the LEFT. His friends and political allies. His appointees.
hehehe, I can hear each rustle of the paper in front of him. A coupe of times I thought I could hear him when he licked his lips.
He has no clue. Damned lying hypocrite.
I remember reading the brass were unhappy with the soldiers’ response to Obama so they now bring in his supporters - those who like him - to all appearances. YOu are probably just looking at soldiers who are there to cheer for Obama. They should not be using this venue to cheer but them’s the orders for the cheerleading crowd.
“Obviously our fighting men and women have more class than I do.”
Obviously....lol and more than me too. :-)
Of course.
I would not say no to him being removed from office before noon 20 Jan 2013.

I had long wondered why people on the Left had the propensity to speak more positively about people who would slit their throats than they do about their own country, which affords them more freedom and opportunity than anywhere else. David Horowitz has answered that question thoroughly and convincingly in his Unholy Alliance. Where I felt bewildered and confused, I now feel crystal clear. Unholy Alliance is such a great book.
It begins with the leftist movements at the beginning of the 20th Century, and works its way up to the present day, exploring the anti-American attitude of these movements in detail. Horowitz shows that the enemies of the US back then are largely the same group today, operating under the same misperceptions, making the same mistakes, and pursuing the same impossible utopia.
More accurately (I'd bet) They followed their orders to attend the speech to the letter.
Not one obamasecond longer.
BTTT!!!
I am hereby referring to that as “Bondage Belt”.
Most of them being members of the press.
I’ve been told good will win...and to not give up. I won’t...but the feelings of sorrow are still there.
May I copy and paste your post on the fort hood archive thread?
