Intellegence Community: 10 To 20 E-mails Between Hasan And Islamic Cleric

Is this Islamic imam a terrorism supporter? Do bears poop in the woods?

Not just any Islamic cleric, we’re talking about the radical Anwar al-Aulaqi, who once served as imam in a Falls Church, Va. mosque attended by traitor and terrorist Nidal Hasan. Speculation is al-Aulaqi counseled Hasan after the spiritual leader bolted for Yemen.

The dots are turning into pretty clear lines, and what really ticks me off is the reports within hours of the attack indicating terrorism was not a factor. Bull feathers. As soon as that statement came out, I knew it was terrorism since as far as I was concerned it met the definition. In the days since, we’ve all heard the stories – or maybe you have not – indicating Hasan was radicalized or on his way.

Intellegence Community: 10 To 20 E-mails Between Hasan And Islamic Cleric

How intelligent can our Intelligence Community be when there is a question about the number of E-mails. 10 to 20?

We might hazard a guess that influential Marxists and / or Muslims who are long-time acquaintances of high government officials know that there is information embarrassing to the Administration within the emails.

Who knows, maybe Hasan had the Birth Certificate! /sarc>

Cheers!

I’ve been wondering (and will probably wonder forever, because I don’t expect we’ll ever get the whole truth on this) whether this whole thing was a massive misjudgement on the part of intelligence officials who knew full well Hasan had established some sort of relationship with Al Qaeda, and were sitting on it because they expected that by watching him, they’d be led to other “bigger fish”.

If they did think he was voluntarily being groomed by Al Qaeda, they wouldn’t have expected him to shoot up a few soldiers at an army base in Texas. Not to belittle the deaths and maimings that occurred there, but for Al Qaeda it’s an embarrassingly small follow-up to 9/11, and not something they would have condoned. IF they were grooming him, they were hoping for something bigger, to really make use of the prize of an insider in a military facility in Afghanistan, for example, to pull off something huge, that would put domestic political pressure on the US to pull out of Afghanistan completely. And the US intelligence people “watching” him would have been watching for that, i.e. planning to put intense covert surveillance on him starting when he left for Afghanistan, but not thinking anything more than casual surveillance of him (and probably more intense surveillance of his electronic communications) was needed while he was still in Texas.

You might want to ask Admin Mod to fix the typo in the title. It’s looks extra funny since the thread will no doubt focus on criticizing the community which is misspelled in the title :-)

"...but for Al Qaeda it’s an embarrassingly small follow-up to 9/11..."

It may have been less successful on their part than they had anticipated, just as was 9/11, but, the ramifications are quite significant just as were those of 9/11.

This happened in a safe haven for our protectors and defenders of freedom, at their home on our own soil.

The handling of it can be potentially more harmful than the event. The people who fought the previous administration on every decision, after 9/11, are now in almost complete control of how this will be handled.

Some of our worst enemies are within, whether through ignorance or by design.

I bet the real cover up is his links to the 08 Presidential campaign.

No doubt Hasan made a sizable donation to Hussein. Does someone have the link to individual donor information?

I disagree. An attack like this, inside a base on American soil is a success to them. I'm sure they want to pull off a biggee like 9-11, but they will also take whatever incremental terror they can, and this was a very symbolic attack.

I disagree. Notice that they’re not claiming responsibility for it. When they’re proud of one of their massacres, they don’t hesitate to say so.

I certainly agree with that. But I don't think this was an Al Qaeda-directed attack. Looks like it was definitely Al Qaeda-inspired, in that Hasan viewed himself as participating in the great anti-Anerican jihad that Al Qaeda promotes. But as for his connections to Al Qaeda, I think he was a wannabe, and that they may even have been trying to rebuff him, because they could tell he was a loose cannon that couldn't be counted on to follow orders.

That could be so. Hopefully, the investigations will be successful and all necessary security measures taken. I’d feel more comfortable if those in charge gave me reason for more faith in them.

they don’t have to formally claim credit for the actions of sleepers. But CAIR and all the rest will come out in defense of the poor misguided soul, and other muslims around the world, and in this country too, will praise him and encourage others to follow suit.
