It depends. I have seen a number of briefings that are intentionally provacative in order to get you to understand how the other side thinks. If you look at slide 2 (objectives), the rest of the briefing is consistent with those. Remember, this is a bunch of psychiatrists, so they were probably bending over backwards to be open minded to begin with.

in fact the DoD should encourage Muslim soldier to be released...or reassigned to non-combat positions....

too bad he was not released...he was reassigned to Ft Hood, and then ordered to deploy...
not excusing him in any way,
but too bad the army kept him, and then said “you go to the front” (oh and i know he would be in a non-combat rear arena)
there is a basic conflict of religion and purpose when we are engaged against Islamic fanatics and we have Muslim soldiers
who would ever want a Muslim on your 6 when engaged in this fight?
I watched this. Beyond the sickening content it was completely disorganized and unprofessional. How they could have let someone with this kind of mind practice medicine, psychiatry for god’s sake is beyond me.
Maybe psychiatry really is a big hoax and they’re all nuts.

Ask them, however, about their medical school classmates who went in psychiatry and they will tell you about Weird Fred, Samuel who never took a bath, Loopy Linda, Larry who hated his mother, etc.

Look, there is a process in the Army for conscientious objectors, and also a way for personnel who cannot fight those of their ancestry to fight elsewhere.
This is not rocket science.The fact is that we have a soft , dodgy bunch of command army personnel who think that the army needs to be a peace corps.The Marine Barracks in Lebanon, The USS Cole, and now Fort Hood are examples of this fact.
If Patton were alive and at Fort Hood he would have entered Casey’s office in Washington and buggy whipped him.Patton in the old days would have had to stand in line.
And the same thinking has penetrated the minds of conservatives.Thus we lose the will to win.If thats the way things are, we should pull all of our troops home, set up barricades and wait for the enemy to come. Like a bunch of old knarlies wringing their hands in consternation.
This whole episode sickens me.Makes me physically nauseous. And I am not alone. Some serious shite has to hit the fan, or we are done.
