A senior government official tells ABC News that investigators have found that alleged Fort Hood shooter Nidal Malik Hasan had "more unexplained connections to people being tracked by the FBI" than just radical cleric Anwar al Awlaki. The official declined to name the individuals but Congressional sources said their names and countries of origin were likely to emerge soon.
Questions already surround Major Hasan's contact with Awlaki, a radical cleric based in Yemen whom authorities consider a recruiter for al Qaeda. U.S. officials now confirm Hasan sent as many as 20 e-mails to Awlaki. Authorities intercepted the e-mails but later deemed them innocent or protected by the first amendment.
The FBI said it turned over the information to the Army, but Defense Department officials today denied that. One military investigator on a joint terror task force with the FBI was shown the e-mails, but they were never forwarded in a formal way to more senior officials at the Pentagon, and the Army did not learn of the contacts until after the shootings.

Thanks. Brian Ross - impressive.
I think Brian Ross was the one who harped on Congressman Foley’s messaging to pages during the 2006 elections. He made it into a perfect storm whereby the entire GOP congess was at fault. Sorry, he’s a typical lib activist reporter.
I never said he wasn’t a lib...I was just responding to who was on The Factor.
Sorry, was just adding info, not making a challenge.
I have been wondering from the beginning that the government was watching this guy, hoping to find bigger fish and didn’t expect him to go jihad on an army base..
BTTT
Thanks.
Didn't the 911 hijackers do something similar?
Yes, they did!

I had long wondered why people on the Left had the propensity to speak more positively about people who would slit their throats than they do about their own country, which affords them more freedom and opportunity than anywhere else. David Horowitz has answered that question thoroughly and convincingly in his Unholy Alliance. Where I felt bewildered and confused, I now feel crystal clear. Unholy Alliance is such a great book.
It begins with the leftist movements at the beginning of the 20th Century, and works its way up to the present day, exploring the anti-American attitude of these movements in detail. Horowitz shows that the enemies of the US back then are largely the same group today, operating under the same misperceptions, making the same mistakes, and pursuing the same impossible utopia.
And we have a new book:

Nidal Hasan was on Homeland Security advisory task force aimed at Obama transition team

On May 19, 2009, The George Washington University Homeland Security Policy Institute (HSPI), an entity that “creates innovative strategies and solutions to current and future threats to the nation,” published a report entitled “Thinking Anew - Security Priorities for the Next Administration - Proceedings Report of the HSPI Presidential Transition Task Force April 2008-January 2009” Listed in the report under the heading “Task Force Event Participants” is none other than alleged murderer, Nidal Hasan.
This self-proclaimed “think and do tank” took on an advisory role with respect to Homeland Security during the presidential transition. This means that prior to becoming a threat to Homeland Security, Hasan was a strategic advisor on Homeland Security.
If Hason was so brazen to be saying the terrorist things he said out loud and proud - IN THE MILITARY, I am not surprised he had deep terrorist ties with the brotherhood and thought that was perfectly fine and normal in the diversity tribal Muslim scheme of things. Just casue he expresses his culture and values of wanting to slit the throats of infidels - who is to judge? He was only quoting the Koran!
Finally, they are not pointing fingers at and threatening Americans should they dare act or speak politically incorrect to the Muslim diversity tribe and instead, are looking at how they screwed up and telling the truth. I’m shocked. Usually the truth never comes out.
