Bill Clinton: "Tea baggers are inflamed because we're winning"
Inside 42's lunch with Senate Dems ^ | 11/10/2009 | CAROL E. LEE & CARRIE BUDOFF BROWN

With the issue he has positioned to be his crowning achievement as president at a crossroads, Barack Obama once again called on his former rival to help him follow through.

Former President Bill Clinton told a room full of Democratic senators Tuesday that passing health care reform — which he failed to do 15 years ago — is not only a moral issue but also “an economic imperative.”

Clinton argued that even “the most cold-hearted person” ought to support health care reform simply from an economic standpoint. He reminded Democrats of the political momentum their failure to pass reform in 1993 delivered the House of Representatives to the Republicans the following year.

"The point I want to make is: Just pass the bill, even if it's not exactly what you want," Clinton told Democrats. "When you try and fail, the other guys write history.”

Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse (D-R.I.) said Clinton described the ongoing tea party protests against the Democratic agenda as a sign his party was making progress.

Whitehouse quoted Clinton arguing: "The reason the tea-baggers are so inflamed is because we are winning."

If they’re winning so handily, why is over half (emphasis on over) of the country now AGAINST their commie agenda?

Clinton’s just jealous because Monica had a sex act named after her, and he didn’t.

LOL!

We all know Bill Clinton enjoyed some teabagging in the Oval Office... Monica Lewinsky is proof of that.

libs never care that them winning means America is losing. It’s all about personal power and raking in as much cash as you can before someone finds something out about you and even then, as a Dem/Lib, it may serve as a resume enhancement.

Clinton credibly accused of rape, convicted of perjury, disbarred, fined and lost a civil case to P. Jones. Reward? Tens of millions in speaking fees.

Republican taps his toes in the mens room of an airport. Done. Gone.

good to know Bill, you sack of crap
++++++++++++++++

That reminds me of when Dan Akroid used to look over to Jane Curtin and say “Jane, you ignorant slut.” Fitting for Clinton.

Clinton...reminded Democrats of the political momentum their failure to pass reform in 1993 delivered the House of Representatives to the Republicans the following year.

Actually, at the time he said it was because of the "assault weapons" ban. I think he was partially right about that, but I've always thought he didn't give the socialized medicine scare enough credit for the loss. IOW, I think people were pissed at Dems for even having the gall to TRY to fsck up our healthcare and scared they'd try again, not mad at them because they "failed" to pass it.

There was a third reason -- perhaps decisive.

Remember the "House Bank Scandal"?

House members could overdraft their bank account without penalty. Some were carrying negative balances into six figures.

Everybody -- even the dimmest-witted moderate --understood that this was wrong, wrong, wrong!

Oh, yeah, I’d forgotten about that. And then Slick has the NERVE to come out and say they lost reelection because they weren’t liberal ENOUGH! What a prick.

If you’re right, and it wouldn’t surprise me at all if you were, I hope the new Republican class acts like they’re supposed to instead of the way they did the last time they were in the majority. Marxism [slightly] lite.

Bill seems to be the go to guy when the administration is in trouble. Rahm seems to be the shot caller or strategizer for the “corporation” I believe Yosi called it, and whenever Obama is in trouble Bill rides to the rescue.

As far as the vote thing: In the Senate Obama voted on many things and didn’t have to deal directly with the results. Now his every decision is receiving immediate feedback and it’s beginning to weigh on him. At least from my perspective. The full reality was Dover AFB receiving the war dead and now the attack on FT Hood.

My impressions from all that I’ve read and seen in the news.

Can you imagine if Boehner said...The fags who want to repeal Dont ask, dont tell......

Well, the actual fags, such as Barney Fag, are a protected group. The First Jerkwad used it in reference to people who can read the Constitution. That's fine.
