Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan is awake and talking, a Brooke Army Medical Center spokesman said Sunday.
Dewey Mitchell, public affairs chief at the hospital, said he did not know if the accused gunman in Thursday mass shooting at Fort Hood is talking to investigators.
“I am not sure how much he is talking,” Dewey Mitchell said. “There is some communication going on. I just got that indication from people on our nursing staff.”
Hasan, wounded four times in a shootout with post police, is in critical but stable condition, Mitchell said.

Actually, I don’t want him executed. I want him permanently paralyzed, his life depending on others, with NO method of communicating.
I want him paraded around for years as an example to other jihadists. Or left alone, forgotten in a gray concrete room. His life wasted.
The way things stand right now, many excuses are made to cover up why he did what he did. Next we'll find out his father beat him when he was 3.

You know what? here’s what... we have months and possibly years of hearing about this.. all because that bastard wasn’t killed. And guess what is further what? How long will it be before the lawyers blame that heroin woman who shot him? I can see it all now.. the MSM will say that the woman was “insensitive” for shooting him. You laugh???? The Supreme Court ruled that the service members and their families could not sue the government for negligence - either institutionalized negligence, or the negligence of a specific individual.

I’m sure, per his muslim faith, he will feel great humiliation at being alive. He certainly intended to die when he did this.
Now he’s facing the harsh reality that Allah did not sweep him off to Paradise, to bask in the glory of martyrdom with his 72 adoring virgins. I don’t even want him executed, because I want all the wannabee jihadists to know he’s spending the rest of his natural life in a US military brig. Much less glamorous than the Paradise and virgins fantasy.

Depending on his level of consciousness, or the medication that he's been given, it's likely that whatever he says won't be admissible. People whose mental capacity has been compromised because of trauma or medication aren't in a position to waive their right against self incrimination.
I'm guessing CID hasn't yet spoken to him - unless of course he's lucid and not-medicated.
