Major Nidal Malik Hasan, the gunman who killed 13 at America's Fort Hood military base, once gave a lecture to other doctors in which he said non-believers should be beheaded and have boiling oil poured down their throats.
He also told colleagues at America's top military hospital that non-Muslims were infidels condemned to hell who should be set on fire. The outburst came during an hour-long talk Hasan, an Army psychiatrist, gave on the Koran in front of dozens of other doctors at Walter Reed Army Medical Centre in Washington DC, where he worked for six years before arriving at Fort Hood in July.
Colleagues had expected a discussion on a medical issue but were instead given an extremist interpretation of the Koran, which Hasan appeared to believe.
It was the latest in a series of "red flags" about his state of mind that have emerged since the massacre at Fort Hood, America's largest military installation, on Thursday.
Hasan, armed with two handguns including a semi-automatic pistol, walked into a processing centre for soldiers deploying to Iraq and Afghanistan, where he killed 13 and injured more than 30.
Fellow doctors have recounted how they were repeatedly harangued by Hasan about religion and that he openly claimed to be a "Muslim first and American second."
One Army doctor who knew him said a fear of appearing discriminatory against a Muslim soldier had stopped fellow officers from filing formal complaints.
Another, Dr Val Finnell, who took a course with him in 2007 at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences in Maryland, did complain about Hasan's "anti-American rants." He said: "The system is not doing what it's supposed to do. He at least should have been confronted about these beliefs, told to cease and desist, and to shape up or

For the sake of those he killed, this protest must get louder.
Send email, call news stations. Demand answers. Demand that the POS in the oval office do something to stop the next Hasan, or come clean and tell us he is with Hasan. Demand it.
Demand that all Muslims be discharged from the Army, Navy and Air force.
For a lot of people who are “well-educated”, the only reason not to like America is that we have been capitalist-imperialist pigs, taking advantage of the down-trodden in the Third World. If someone’s hatred doesn’t fit into that model, they won’t get it.
My own big sister was telling me we brought it on ourselves when 9/11 happened. She didn’t get it that people could hate America because it’s the headquarters of the infidel, and we’re all the infidel. I had to remind her that the people who died that day were guilty of absolutely nothing. They just showed up for work.
I think fewer people are that ignorant now. The media would do a bit of spinning if it happened again, but the public is much wiser, for the most part.
A TON of Shrinks are CRAZy themselves.
LAMESTREAM Media.
My hope is that enough people will realize where this road leads and be willing to sacrfice comfort, money, time, whatever it takes - to get the thing turned back in the right direction.
It’s been headed in the wrong direction for a long, long time. It’s just so far wrong now that the rapids are getting louder and louder. Or rather, the huge falls. You can feel the spray even.
My heart goes out to both of you.
Please let your kids know that many Americans do understand the sacrifice they are making for their country, for us.
We will try to find a way to fight back effectively as civilians because our country is at WAR! You must be great Mom’s to raise kids that are willing to fight for our country.
Computer locked up, sorry for the double post.
Well, look, you stupid right-wingers, the important thing here is that World Citizen Hasan was not profiled in any way, shape, or form.
Think how awful it would have been if they actually considered his religion as indicative of a potential threat to our soldiers lives. Oh, the horror!
Now, those ex-soldiers, constitution-lovers, Gadsden flag-waiving Christians, they deserve to be called out and labeled extremists and even “domestic terrorists”.

You know what’s even more insane than this?
Americans are tolerating it. Americans aren’t in the streets to resist.
Where are the Americans?
The time has come to start frying bacon in Hasan’s room. To show how sensitive we are.
I think he just went nuts. He could have just as easily been a radical godless leftist with the same outcome.
“He could have just as easily been a radical godless leftist with the same outcome.”
Yeah, nothing to see here with the Islam thing, folks.
Move along nicely, like good sheep should.
I will not be suspicious of the nice Muslims.

There, I feel so much safer now.
The time has come to start frying bacon in Hasans room. To show how sensitive we are.
I’d be tempted to misplace the painkillers, as well.
It would be nice if people would at least stop watching the smut-peddling propagandists but even that won’t happen.
Everyone knew. It was political correctness that forced our officers to ignore a terrorist in their midst.
The religion of peace. /sarcasm
This shows that political correctness is not a harmless but weird doctrine.
It Orwellian Fascist/Commie-talk, and its purpose is to destroy America by destroying freedoms in the Bill of Righst. It is a weapon as much as a firearm is.
You are a tool if you think that. Or a liar.
He planned, plotted, premeditated and practiced at a range. And expressed jihadi sentiments publicly for a long time.
That isn’t “going nuts”.
Political correctness and fear -- destroying America from the inside. ...and alas, the armed forces are among the worst offenders.
Thanks az. I will pass along your comment to my son.
