It may have been the first, small clue that an apparently ordinary week at the world's largest army base was about to become something horrifically different, when neighbours saw Major Nidal Hasan escorting a visitor into his flat.
Other residents at the Casa del Norte apartment complex were surprised to see the mild-mannered army officer accompanied by another man in Islamic dress.
Alice Thompson, 53, who manages the two storey block of simple dwellings with her husband John, told The Sunday Telegraph: "It was very unusual because he had never had anyone round before. His visitor had long black hair and a moustache and a dark complexion. He stayed about five minutes and then left. We'd never seen him before."

I hope this is not true, for her or any of the other victims.
Several other relevant articles on the website.
Have any articles discussed personal firearms carry on bases.
All news to Americans is from the UK, Pravda, and the
Internet.
The American MSM is bonded to the Enemies of America.
Strange world we live in.
Not that I’ve seen.
The government has already began to cover up this horror - they are claiming it wasn’t a terror ‘plot’. Of course not; it was the lone act of a Muslim terrorist!
This anonymous visitor is very suspicious. Could this have been his handler who told him “now is the time”?
He paid months in advance. Is it possible he knew that far in advance that the deployment would be scheduled for around this time?
Now that is a true statement. Don’t forget CFP.
I wonder if the Muzzie visitor is the source of the revolver and all the extra clips of ammo.
This article is by far more detailed and, I would judge, more accurate than ANYTHING published in the American press.
BHO said it was a “horrific act of violence” - which sounds to me as a much tamer statement than saying it was either part of a terror plot or even the lone act of a Muslim terrorist.
Any murder or other major crime could well be described as a “horrofic act of violence.” It more or less indicates that it was “just another day” as is becoming so usual in American daily life.
Not shocked
The most telling, single event in the aftermath of this attack was the length of time between when it was reported and when Fort Hood authorities held a press conference. The base commandant was being lectured about WHAT could and couldn’t be said.
The FBI, Homeland Security, and the Pentagon - all had Major Hasan on their radar as a security risk. The only person who thwarted the Major being put on the inactive duty roster was President Obama.
Today the people are being told this wasn’t a terrorist plot. That is a lie and it comes from the White House.
Once again, we have to rely on British news sources for the actual news. While our news media feeds us whatever drivel fits their agendas. Now I know what people in the Soviet Union felt like.
I heard the report of the brief visitor on CNN last night.
I read an article earlier today about a young Muslim convert he was mentoring. It said they dropped by his apartment a couple of times just to pick something up.
I wondered if perhaps that young man was the visitor just before the attacks. But this description doesn’t seem to fit...that young man was an American.
Very curious.
“I suppose it’s possible “American” news outlets will mention the magical mystery muslim meeting Malik Monday Morning...”
Would you care to bet on that? I’ll give you odds.
Interesting
oh gosh, let’s not “rush to any conclusions”...
Best media description I’ve seen yet. Timeline on what the terrorist did and how he was dressed, who he talked to etc.
