Ok, as much as I dislike the Obama administration, I don’t believe anyone is well served by his presence at Ft. Hood. The place is already a mess due to the attempt to secure and gather every detail about what happened. There is still some concern that the shooter may have had an accomplice. (He did manage to get off 100 rounds)

To bring the President, his bloated security detail, and all the drooling press into this situation would be an extremely large distraction to those trying to either investigate or return this vital base to a semblance of normalcy.

Rick Perry even made a statement saying that his presence there would only serve to be a distraction and that he would only go there at the request of the base.

The President is probably doing the right thing - possibly for the wrong reasons, but who’s to say?

I agree. They have enough to do without having the extra headache of a presidential visit.

And if he did, the headline would be that he was grandstanding.

Are you KIDDING me???

President Bush and Laura went to visit the wounded troops last night, because it was the RIGHT thing to do. As Commander in Chief, President Bush ALWAYS visited his troops, because it was the RIGHT thing to do.

This CREEP is waiting for the right photo op because he DOES NOT CARE. There is nothing RIGHT about what he is doing. There is nothing RIGHT about him.

Obama HATES our troops. HE could go, and it would be fine. HE could control the press, but he WILL NOT because that's ALL he cares about.

And YES, I am SHOUTING.

I’ll be kind and simply point out that President Bush, in the immediate aftermath of 9/11, while investigations were being conducted, and we were all still on pins and needles about terrorist attacks, flew into NY City and visited Ground Zero. He did it because it was the right and proper thing to do. Frankly, I could care less what Rick Perry thinks about it. Obama could and should have gone there, without his press puppies and convoy, and at least pay respects to our soldiers and their families. I guess he thinks it’s enough that he’ll be attending a memorial service next week, especially when the eyes of the country will be watching it on TV. Well, I won’t be watching, because I can’t stomach that piece of $hit or his wife. His being at that memorial service is about as disgusting as Hillary Clinton’s attendance at today’s commissioning ceremony of the U.S.S. New York. Who could ever imagine that the wife of the man who helped bring about 9/11, would be on hand to commission the ship built from the steel of the World Trade Center?

I hope he doesn’t show. We don’t need his crap down here right now.

We already know he holds our service members in contempt. I’d rather he didn’t even try to fake his way through the photo op.
