Spending the better half of one day and one night searching the internet for information on the Ft. Hood Muslim shooter, Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan, I have found this disturbing 2009 video from the online archives of C-Span in which the terrorist appears. There has been some reference to this video in US media but not widespread it seems.
It is located HEREat C-Span.
Nidal Malik Hasan was apparantly an invited guest to a public address in Washington by the Israeli Ambassador to the US, Sallai Meridor. Shooter Hasan took a seat in the second row nearly across from the Ambassador and one of the participants Yonah Alexander of Inter-University Center for Terrorism Studies (also professor of international studies and director of the Institute for Studies in International Terrorism at the State University of New York)the program ironically called Combating Terrorism. It is my impression or at least some level of concern that the Israeli Ambassador, other anti-terrorist officials and VIPs at that event may have been in some level of danger. I have analyzed the video in detail. In addition to the link above, I provide my own outtakes from said January event in Washington.
These were placed on YouTube. Please view them there.
Clip 1, Hasans Movements Following Ambassadors Departure
Clip 2, Hasan Close-up While Woman Next To Him Asks Ambassador Question About Terrorism
Further, I provide time-mark comments to the C-Span VIDEO below as well as further details.
Sent to Drudge. Done!
My, what a nice, polite post. Thank you.
It’s all just so creepy. Perhaps the reason that he didn’t want to deploy had less to do with his opposition to the war itself, but that deployment would get in the way of something big that he wanted to carry out. I’m betting that the higher-ups knew he was risky, and that is why they moved him to Ft Hood, away from DC where there were so many potential high targets.
Spooky tropical stare in that freeze frame, pillut48, that Hasan, looking at Paul Bremer from behind. Yikes. Looks like Col. Walter E. Kurtz right outta “Apocalypse Now”. Sheesh.
BTTT
YOu’ll notice that at the end the emcee advises all to stay seated.
The terrorist waits a few seconds and then pops up out of his seat...you again, here, “please stay seated”.
Muzzies play by their own rules...interesting he wore his uniform to give himself a sense of legitimacy. Let Israeli Secret Service be forewarned that our military is not to be trusted.
Yeah, it creeped me out watching it (in hindsight)—watch it at CSPAN as he stands up again and turns and looks briefly in the direction of the camera as it pans the audience.
Great work.
There is an FR thread which we talked on yesterday, with a link to the HSPI site which has the color photo from their December 3rd, 2008 "International Strategy: Reinvigorating Our Role In The World" panel discussion. Same BDU attire. Only at that event there were no big game like the Ambassadors Meridor and Bremer, et. al. Connect them dots.
FReeper American in Tokyo has done an outstanding piece of work in uncovering and analyzing this. Here's hoping it gets to the attention of appropriate parties.
a) Go to this pdf online: http://www.gwumc.edu/hspi/old/PTTF_ProceedingsReport_05.19.09.pdf
b) Go to page 12 of the pdf document (the page numbers at the bottom of the doc).
c) Go to the color photo immediately under "Reinvigorating Our Role In The World", and finally
d) capturing that color image off the pdf. and then posting on this thread?
There will be an interesting little surprise on the far left, front row of that crowd in that photo from December 2008, and it relates to this thread for sure. It is one more "dot".
If I were a vet, returning from Iraq, I would think a Muslim shrink would be the last person to whom I would want to confide. I know this is so obvious I shouldn’t even say it but some of these “important, smart” people are just stuck on stupid.
Well, there is Heinlein's Razor: Never attribute to malice that which can be adequately explained by stupidity
The US military has an awful task. We can either plan to kill over a billion Muslims and convert them, or we can dissuade them while taking out their more radical elements. In either event, we must get into their heads to predict their behavior, learn their plans, and undermine their efforts. That takes people both familiar with Arabic and capable of understanding viscerally the Jihadi worldview. It also takes spies. Were you given the task of training such people and given the cost of the education, you might have to develop organizational tolerance for the early stages of a long-term personnel development regimen. You would definitely have to present an alternative psyche for your student to adopt as a shell when the point of disillusionment with Islam is reached, for which secular psychiatry is perfect. It is possible that this monster's handlers were sending him to the front to give him a taste of reality as part of his training and eventual conversion to "our side." They might well have been willing to tolerate a degree of radicalism along the way given the sunk costs. At least he would be developing the education and contacts with which to become an effective mole. The problem is that such strategies can blow up in your face.
Needless to say, every system is subject to budgetary pressure, to produce an acceptable "yield" of people who will do the job. That leads a manager to apologize for apparently excessive deviation along the way and affords our budding jihadi a degree of protection for his youthful deviant behavior.
Oops. Fortunes of war and all that.
Dunno, but it fits. All I am pointing out is that there are all sorts of possibilities here that can explain these events. One thing is certain, that we are not likely to be party to the determinate information as long as cover for such operations is necessary. That cover protects both screw-up and traitor equally. It's a devilish thing to separate the two, particularly when they can be one and the same as essential parts of an extended process.
That’s unique, I’ll say.
I heard a service person call into talk radio and he said once Hasan got his medical degree in Psychiatry it was an automatic promotion.
downright scary *ping*
From what I remember hearing he would not yet have been a major in Jan. 2009. I think he was automatically promoted to major shortly before he was transfered to Ft Hood. That was about 4 months ago.
