FORT HOOD, Texas (AP) ― Former President George W. Bush and his wife, Laura, visited wounded soldiers and their families near the site of the worst mass shooting on an Army post in the United States.

The Bushes made their private visit to Fort Hood's Darnall Army Medical Center on Friday night. Bush spokesman David Sherzer said in an e-mail that the couple thanked Fort Hood's military leaders and hospital staff for the "amazing care they are providing."

Bush is now a civilian. He can go where he wishes for whatever reason. No one can spin it otherwise without making themselves look idiotic.

This brought tears when I read it. I don't dare say too much about the comparison between President Bush and the impostor. OTOH, it's probably a good thing the impostor doesn't go to Ft. Hood. His insincerity would be obvious and just hurt the personnel even more.

I wouldn’t be surprised if the reason Dubya went was that he was concerned that 0 might not.

YES, President Bush gave obama the chance to visit first but obviously the a$$ had no intention of visiting.

You are looking at pure class.

re the W visit to Ft. Hood — yes, he’s closer to the site than is Obozo — BUT, W could’ve made it a real photo opp (though why he would, I cannot imagine) and visited immediately after the tragedy.

Instead, he waited a couple of days and...............with no Osama visit in site............. W did the right thing and showed up to support the troops.

I’m sure that W’s visit meant a LOT more to most of those stationed there at Ft. Hood than anything zero would ever do!!!

Great post! I don’t think President Bush will ever realize just how meaningful his visit was to Fort Hood, to our military overseas, and to America.

Meanwhile...who is Obama inspiring?

Pelosi says Obama visit [BRIBEfest] on Capitol Hill inspired Democrats to pass health care bill

The squalid small-mindedness of these people is obscene.

Re: “While many on the right have disagreed with W on spending and being a punching bag for the left, I never doubted his respect for our military. His grace, his faith, his courage, his class, honor, his respect for the office he held, his love of country. I can’t say ANY of those things about the current OCCUPIER and chief.

We do miss you, President (stated with pride) Bush.”

**************

Yes! The ONLY disagreement I ever had with W was on spending, and his spending was a mere pittance compared with that of Ozero in less than one year!!!

George W. Bush was a fine president and is a good man. Zero is a communist with a ton of secrets, surrounded by others of his ilk.

Re: “Can you just imagine the relief these soldiers felt, seeing President and Laura Bush opening the hospital room door (after they knocked politely, of course)?

Instead of the loathesome Obama and his spouse?”

*****************

YES! I am imagining just such a scene — what an immense relief and comfort to see GWB and Laura instead of the clueless communist and his nasty spouse.

This is a huge PR disaster for Zero.

Should be the equivalent of Bush "not going" to NOLA after Katrina. But it won't be, just watch. MSM has Obama's back.

Obama can jet all over the country for dates with his wife, and all over the world taking along their relatives; but, he can’t seem to find time to go to Ft. Hood, TX in his capacity as CIC.

If I recall correctly, he was a little slow on the uptake when it came to expressing sorrow for the nation when an Army recruiter was killed and one wounded by a Muslim in Little Rock, AR.

Former POTUS George W. Bush and former FLOTUS, Laura Bush went to Ft. Hood, and there was never any doubt about their support for our military personnel when President Bush was POTUS.

But, I don’t want to “jump to any conclusions” as to the reasons why our current POTUS and FLOTUS are so reticent and reserved about these things.
