FORT HOOD, Texas (AP) ― Former President George W. Bush and his wife, Laura, visited wounded soldiers and their families near the site of the worst mass shooting on an Army post in the United States.
The Bushes made their private visit to Fort Hood's Darnall Army Medical Center on Friday night. Bush spokesman David Sherzer said in an e-mail that the couple thanked Fort Hood's military leaders and hospital staff for the "amazing care they are providing."

thanks for the ping. It does not surprise me that President Bush and the former First Lady Laura visited the wounded troops at Ft Hood while the current occupant does not find the time but instead goes to Camp David to relax from his "hard work"

At this point, I'd settle for a president who could even pretend to care about the military.

Former President beats the current President on a trip to the scene for our soldiers wounded by an Islamic thug.Naw, George didn't beat him there...The impostor never intended to go in the first place...

The Soldiers have very little faith in their CIC. Obama had a golden opportunity to “fake the funk” so-to-speak and try to restore a little morale.
It is painfully obvious where his loyalties lie.

Thank You George & Laura for visiting and comforting our nation’s heros.Well done.

Obama is too busy preparing for his Asian apology tour to have time for a trip to Fort Hood.
Besides, would he want to visit a base named for a Confederate general?
One of the Civil War-era versions of "The Yellow Rose of Texas" had a line "the gallant Hood of Texas played hell in Tennessee" (referring to the fighting in late 1864).

Oh please, tell me about it!
I miss the big guy too. He wasn’t perfect, but you can tell that he really did care for the soldiers and for people in general.
I really miss him too!

Thanks for the ping, Starwise.
You can tell that he and Laura truly love our military.
They exude the class that BO and MO only pretend to have.
May God bless them and all of our military.

It’s buried on Fox...not a mention of it yet at CNN or MSNBC online.
Thanks for sending to Drudge.
