FORT HOOD, Texas (AP) ― Former President George W. Bush and his wife, Laura, visited wounded soldiers and their families near the site of the worst mass shooting on an Army post in the United States.
The Bushes made their private visit to Fort Hood's Darnall Army Medical Center on Friday night. Bush spokesman David Sherzer said in an e-mail that the couple thanked Fort Hood's military leaders and hospital staff for the "amazing care they are providing."

So say we all!
There I said it, not real loud but I said it ok. Would vote again but would rather have the chick with the gun in there.
I really hope you meant "grace" instead of "grass"
lol
This doesn’t surprise me, I would expect it. What would surprise me would be the half white squatter in OUR WH doing the same thing. IT is far too busy trying to take over 1/9th of our economy so he can complete his coup and play boy king forever.
Wonder if he "snuck over" to Metroplex hospital, which is just accross US 190 from the Clear Creek gate, to see Sgt. Munley, the heroine who stopped the Jihadie in his tracks.
In one of the hospitals there.
Riigghht.
I've listened to Rush for quite a few years now, so I have an idea on what he might say for a show opening. Here's my thought for Monday's show:
"So let me get this straight...ladies and gentlemen. The FORMER President, who served as Commander-In-Chief for eight years, along with the former First Lady, visits the wounded and the troops at Ft. Hood...with no "shoutouts", mind you, before the CURRENT president does?
"Kinda makes you grieve on behalf of the American people - and especially the military - on what WE "inherited" on January 20, 2009...doesn't it?"
(By the way, I just realized...Rush hasn't been on the air to discuss this yet...Monday should be a really interesting show...)
Thank you President George W. Bush and Laura for your continued service to our Military!
They really need your support since the “present” CIC isn’t available.
good to hear!A class act all the way
and Michelle needs a new belt!!!
HaHa. Yep, that's what I meant. Left my glasses upstairs and I'm too lazy to walk up and get them.
This is great! I’m sure they loved seeing him, too. While I disagreed with Bush on some things (mostly that he was too nice to the Dems), I never thought that he did not put the US first. And he was a truly good and honorable CIC for the military.
I’m not sure Bambi knows how to find the US on a map. And we probably shouldn’t even ask him what he really, truly thinks about our soldiers.
Michael Grant Cahill, a 62-year-old physician assistant, suffered a heart attack two weeks ago and returned to work at the post as a civilian employee after taking just one week off for recovery, said his daughter Keely Vanacker.
One week after a heart attack and he's back serving *his* soldiers. I'm humbled, absolutely humbled. First by his actions, and second by the realization that he was over two years OLDER than I am.
Thank you ,President Bush. We miss you.
It’s just who they are.
For which I am grateful.
Thanks for pointing that out - had missed it.
Yes, there ARE real heroes out there - we just don’t know about them too often.
Pres. Bush visited Virginia Tech the day after that tragic shooting. And they dealt with security then.
The liberals criticized Bush for delaying going to New Orleans after Katrina. Bush had said that security was a concern, and the liberals blasted him for talking about the security needed for a president to go somewhere. But in the case of Obama, apparently there are different standards.
He didn't even send the SecDef or Chairman of the Joint Chiefs. Just the SecArmy and CoS of the Army, who likely went on their own hook, rather than under direction of the Usurper.
I was wondering if the higher death toll (than original 7)was due to some dying from wounds later!
Supposedly he’s going to the memorial, if he can work it into his schedule before he goes to Asia. You know, priorities.
Actually it is. It's less disruptive, not to mention more secure, to fly over a city rather than run a motorcade through it. Quicker too.
I always thought it strange that both Clinton and Gore were conveniently out of the country during 9/11. If it had been Bush and Cheney the conspiracies would have gone nuclear.
