Obama's Response to Fort Hood Shooting Under Scrutiny
Fox News ^ | 11-06-09

Critics say that the tone and brevity of Obama's remarks on Fort Hood 'did not appreciate the gravity of what he represents' while others say he had the right presidential instincts.

As the U.S. military and law enforcement were scrambling to save lives after a deadly shooting rampage at Ft. Hood, Texas, President Obama opened his remarks Thursday with a two-minute "shout out" to audience members who attended the Tribal Nations Conference hosted by the Interior Department.

Obama's initial comments on the shooting that killed 13 and wounded scores of others came at the conclusion of Thursday's conference, which was attended by leaders from several of the 564 federally recognized American Indian tribes.

"I planned to make some broader remarks," he told the crowd. "But as some of you might have heard there has been a tragic shooting at the Fort Hood Army base in Texas."

The president's words on the deadly rampage came two minutes after he gave a "shout out" to an audience member and stressed the need to pass health care reform.

"I hear that Dr. Joe Medicine Crow was around, and so I want to give a shout out to that Congressional Medal of Honor winner. It’s good to see you," he said.

Doesn’t he have to be back in Copenhagen soon to receive his Commie award from the nutty Nobel guys?

The fargin jerk couldn’t even remember his “shout out” pal was awarded the Medal of Freedom, not the Medal of Honor (Medal of Honor winner? It’s not the lottery Odumbo, one is awarded medals). And Odumbo was the one who presented the Medal of Freedom to the guy! And he can’t even remember which medal??

Hasan has no moral back bone.
He didn't need to kill and maim other people in order to protest the wars.

He could have refused to go overseas and have taken the consequences for his personal decision.
Other people have gone that peaceful route.

Odds are good that the Leftist media would have made him a saint.
Being shot by a woman must have crushed Hasan's ego.

What about the possibility that he was on drugs?

There was no reason for Hasan to refuse deployment, he was not front lines, his job would have been the same that he was doing at Fort Hood, treating PTSD.

I imagine he knew that.

And since he still did not want to be deployed, he should have openly refused to go, instead of shooting people who were being deployed.

Of course Hasan knew that he would not be in the front lines. He knew that there was really no excuse for refusing deployment, except that he was using it as an excuse to get out of the military.

Exactly.

Hasan was making up an excuse.

He was too much of a baby to man-up, talk publicly about his anti-war feelings, and face the music.

He would have been declared a saint by the Leftist media, if he would have taken that stand.

I don't get why anyone is surprised.

THIS is who zer0 IS, he's an enemy of this country and just revealed it again for ALL to see.

Question is, how many will open their eyes and begin to see?

Thank you, Doogle. I agree with Peters and I’d like to think Teddy Roosevelt would have, too. We need that no-nonsense approach in our country and we need it now.

OMG- Steve Centani just said - he was teased and taunted about his muslim background...then he added “some people can take it, some people can’t- now we know he couldn’t”...

Wow. I always listen when Centanni talks about Islamic terrorists, after his own experience. Good for him.
