I hope that range has security cameras with a big hard drive (saved the video from his multiple range visits), and video of this guy practicing for his jihad. Prosecutors could make good use of video, showing premeditation, etc.

What’s rare is a shooter who picks a caliber for penetration, and then lines up a kill zone full of massed bodies where he can’t miss, and behid every human target are three or four more.

Do it again, I’d expect the same results.

The major was a regular at a shooting range I have a partner with. He used a FN 5.7 x 28 pistol. He was at the range this weekend and was very adept at shooting targets at 100 yards.

This is starting to make more sense for me. Until now, I couldn’t see how what was reported was even possible, especially when they were reporting that he didn’t spend time at the range or have any serious weapons training.

Now it looks like he was planning and preparing for this for a long time. With practice, I can see how he pulled off a quick reload with only one weapon to worry about.

Those bullets are nasty. Real show-stoppers. One hit and you would be down.

The pistol he used is shipped usually with three mags. The 20 round mags can be altered with a kit to hold 30 rounds. The jihadists had another pistol on him, probably for back up, which he didn’t get to use. The shooting supposedly took place in an enclosed place, killing soldiers waiting for dental treatment, etc.
