uthorities say Fort Hood shooting Nidal Malik Hasan remains in a coma but is expected to live.
A federal law enforcement official said investigators have not been able to talk to Hasan since the deadly rampage that left 13 people dead and injured 30 others at the sprawling Army post in Texas on Thursday.
The initial investigation shows that Hasan allegedly used only one gun during the attack -- a 5.7-caliber semiautomatic pistol.

In the words of Mick Jagger, someone needs to
“flip the switch”.
And, oh, the humiliation for a jihadi - shot by a woman!

Maybe he will live long enough to be executed by the Great State of TEXAS Assuming the guy lives, I'd bet he gets some top notch legal reps who get him the military equivalent of not guilty by insanity. Then a book deal, Oprah, and the talk show circuit.

...quite right and have a high velocity of about 2400 fps and will penetrate military vests!! Will also tumble quickly to do max damage to tissue. With 20 round mags, he probably reloaded twice before she nailed him...

So the samurai have 3 person swords, and Pancho had 4 person Spanish Mausers. Sheesh.

well, except in this case it would be nice for authorities to interview him to see if he was acting as a lone nut.

I agree, firing squad or hanging would be nice in this case.

Hell be lawyered up by CAIR and get off easily. This guy is so toxic, no one will defend him.
If they get him patched up, he's going to be put back down fairly quickly.

I’d rather see him go out like the child raper in Saudi Arabia. Beheading, followed by crucifixion of the remains.
To: SoldierDad
Yes as he may have had a couple of members of al qaeda that had bumper stickers pulled off of their cars that day that were disgruntled proctologists and such.

My wife has one of these FiveSeven pistols. It's a hot centerfire .22. Reloadable brass, but often requires using a .223 rather than the standard .224 bullets to avoid crushing/collapsing the case mouth. Factory ammo from FN comes in a variety of formats. The plastic tipped versions shown in the picture are typical "varmint" rounds. There is a special AP round that is accessible only to military/law enforcement. Recoil is low. Rapid fire is easily accomplished. Acquisition of aimed fire between rounds is similarly easy. The 20 round mags are nice, but we don't shoot it much due to high ammo costs.
The 20 rd mags are likely the reason the shooter selected the FiveSeven. Rapid fire. Lots of rounds. Easy to put a lot of lead out in a short time frame. The frame/grips have the feel of a 1911. Mag swaps are fast and easy too.

Looks that way. I’m sure he’ll be interviewed by the FBI as they gather information.

Are those AP rounds? No, those are Ballistic tip hollowpoints, basically hollowpoint bullets with a plastic "plug" to help feeding in semi-autos and promote expansion/fragmentation.
