Getty Images President Obama didn't wait long after Tuesday's devastating elections to give critics another reason to question his leadership, but this time the subject matter was more grim than a pair of governorships.
After news broke out of the shooting at the Fort Hood Army post in Texas, the nation watched in horror as the toll of dead and injured climbed. The White House was notified immediately and by late afternoon, word went out that the president would speak about the incident prior to a previously scheduled appearance. At about 5 p.m., cable stations went to the president. The situation called for not only his trademark eloquence, but also grace and perspective.
But instead of a somber chief executive offering reassuring words and expressions of sympathy and compassion, viewers saw a wildly disconnected and inappropriately light president making introductory remarks. At the event, a Tribal Nations Conference hosted by the Department of Interior's Bureau of Indian affairs, the president thanked various staffers and offered a "shout-out" to "Dr. Joe Medicine Crow -- that Congressional Medal of Honor winner." Three minutes in, the president spoke about the shooting, in measured and appropriate terms. Who is advising him?

Spengler of the Asia Times believes that he has "discovered the ruling passion of both Ann Dunham and her son Barack Obama, and that this ruling passion is radical anti-Americanism.". .
WE can only hope.
Sounds about right.
The irony of the accusation about Bush reading to the grade-school kids after being told about the attack on the World Trade Center is that he wasn’t—he was listening to the children read.
His tin ear is unexplainable. After the Tuesday election results, if he had been human, and said I will be more sensitive to the people and what they are saying and what they’re concerns are. I heard you. His numbers would have rocketed. He wouldn’t have had to do anything to follow up even. People want to know that their leader has the ability towards SELF-INTROSPECTION and to admit sometimes that he might be wrong. And they’re seeing he doesn’t and they’re getting understandably scared.

Remember hearing a 26 year old wrote his speeches. It seems to me this is intentionally done, more of a dictator assumption of power.

Obama Says A Baby Is A Punishment
Obama: If they make a mistake, I dont want them punished with a baby.
I honestly expected Obama to gaze at the back of the crowd and shout “Yo, Leroy! Wuz’ happenin’ man?”
Additionally, the blame lies primarily on Obama himself. He is the narcissist. He doesn’t understand how to behave in a grave situation. It’s all about him. He wants the limelight, the spotlight and will turn into a lounge lizard right on que.
His communications team MAY shoulder some responsibility for his remarks....but his demeanor was ALL. HIS. OWN.
Thanks for the ping.
He's pathetic.
This is big!
my whole regular email list got this
Right on!
They still can’t bring themselves to bash Zero. They are only bashing “advisors”.
Obviously, they subconsciously recognize he’s an empty suit who must rely on “advisors” to tell him what to say!!!
Nothing this President does is an accident or oversight.
This was done on purpose. He gave us all the finger.
No oversight, no miscalculation, no accident.
Never waste a crisis.
I was wondering about that. I’d never heard of the recipient and but gave him the benefit of the doubt that he could have been a Medal of Honor recipient. So he even screwed up the name of the award?
It was So very wierd. Not just the 2 minute pre-speech and call-out, but the strange and strong direct passion he turned on about “we are with you” and “our firm commitment” to Native Americans (sounding angry at one moment), followed by his colorless, almost tedious mentioning of the troops, as if he was PO’d that he had to inject this aside about Fort Hood into his remarks. Bizarre.
