Peaceful preaching inside, violent message outside a New York mosque

New York (CNN) —

SNIPPET: “Protected by the Constitution of the country they detest, radical Muslim converts like Yousef al-Khattab and Younes Abdullah Mohammed preach that the killing of U.S. troops overseas is justified. In their thinking, so were the September 11, 2001, attacks on the United States — and so are attacks on almost any American.

“Americans will always be a target — and a legitimate target — until America changes its nature in the international arena,” Mohammed said in an interview to air on tonight’s “AC 360.”

Al-Khattab and Mohammed consider al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden their model.”

“Take a look at Hasan’s old mosque”
By STEPHEN SCHWARTZ
Last Updated: 5:35 AM, November 7, 2009

SNIPPET: “What interpretation of Islam influenced Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan? As often before, the trail leads to the official sect of Saudi Arabia — known as Wahhabism to most of us of who denounce it.

Confronting the role of radical Islam here is not Islamophobic, but common sense — and the first response moderate Muslims themselves will have.

Hasan, though born in America, refused to have his picture taken with women — an attitude distinct to fundamentalist radicalism among Muslims. The Prophet Mohammed cautioned his followers that when they go to live in non-Muslim lands they must accept the laws and customs of their new home. Millions of American Muslims get their picture taken with women, even ones not their wives, and don’t worry about it. To refuse such an elementary and even trivial act of courtesy sets Muslims apart — and that is the aim of radicals.”

“Events Surrounding Fort Hoot Shooting Rampage Detailed”
Saturday, November 07, 2009

FORT HOOD, Texas —

SNIPPET: “After the shooter stopped to reload, Smith made a run for it. Pushing two other soldiers in front of him, he made it out of the Soldier Readiness Processing center — only to plunge into the building twice more to help the wounded.

Smith had survived the worst mass shooting on an American military base, a rampage of more than 100 shots that left 13 dead and 30 wounded, including the alleged shooter, Army psychiatrist Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan.

SLIDESHOW: Deadly Fort Hood Rampage

It could have been much worse, but for the heroics of Smith and others — like the 19-year-old private who ignored her own wounds, and the diminutive civilian police officer whose gunfire helped take down Hasan.”

This opinion commentary is posted here as one sentence was particularly noteworthy.

“Obama’s Frightening Insensitivity Following Shooting
A bad week for Democrats compounded by an awful moment for Barack Obama.”

SNIPPET: “But instead of a somber chief executive offering reassuring words and expressions of sympathy and compassion, viewers saw a wildly disconnected and inappropriately light president making introductory remarks.”

I just heard on FOX, that at the top of the hour they will have an interview with Hasan family members who live in the mideast.

WARNING: All of the news outlets ALWAYS lie about the precise time when they are going to cover something -- so PLEASE do not get mad with me if they show nothing for a total hour.

What they specifically stated, however, was that at "THE TOP OF THE HOUR" they'd play the interview, from the mideast.

I've heard so many horror stories of people waiting for over an hour, even, for a promised story to appear, and I sure hope that this won't be one of those times.

I may have given you inaccurate information. I heard on TV that Dr. Hasan was moved to a hospital in San Antonio --- because the San Antonio office of the FBI has juridiction over this case.

SO... maybe he will be tried in a federal court, a CIVIL trial in Texas.

Frankly, my own prediction is that if he ever awakens from his coma, and is not severely brain damaged, that he will be declared psychiatrically unfit to stand trial and will live out his life as some VERY nice maximum security hospital which has all imaginable immenities.

The promo build up for this interview was probably longer than the interview itself.

I missed the first part. It was from Ramallah on the West Bank - and I presume the man was an uncle, but I don't know.

The only part of the interview I heard was the man describe Dr.Hasan being very angry about the muslim terrorist atrocities of 911; that Dr. Hasan "doesn't even know Arabic, he can't read the Koran in Arabic;" and that he was "not 100%, but rather 110% All-American; and that Dr. Hasan's own mother was totally modern, and had never at any time in her life worn a veil.

I presume this small interview will be re-played many many many times.

"...does this mean that if the intubated paralyzed Dr. Hasan actually wakes up from his coma, that he will be tried in a civilian court of law in San Antonio, Texas?"

No...I don't believe so.

This islamic, muslim terrorist is a member of the active duty military; he committed premeditated murder while on a military post/base; he committed an act of religious terrorism.

The civilian police forces on a military post are there as "invitees" of the military. While on that post, they are subject to military law and rules. This applies to all civilians working on or visiting a military establishment.

This islamic, muslim terrorist US Army active duty major will be tried, convicted and hopefully executed by firing squad by military courts and law.

That is...unless our islamic, muslim in chief commutes his fellow muslim's death sentence.

They have it right, right down to the effort to utilize the youth do advance their cause. They cover sleeper cells, manipulation of the media, and other propagandist and subversive efforts.

A brain-dead chimp could see it.; what's more important is specifically what to do about on an individual basis. We were given the counter-strategy 3,500 years ago, but it has remained hidden, until now.

It's amazing.

As promised, the quote from Jefferson in his memoirs concerning the imposition of de facto martial law in the city of New Orleans by Gen James Wilkinson, without getting approval of the legislature or the general in charge of New Orleans, in an attempt to forestall any infiltration by supporters of Aaron Burr, whose "army" was a potential threat to New Orleans.

"A strict observance of the written laws is doubtless one of the high duties of a good citizen, but it is not the highest.

The laws of necessity, of self preservation, of saving our country when in danger, are of higher obligation.

To lose our country by a scrupulous adherence to written law, would be to lose the law itself, with life, liberty, and property and all those who are enjoying them with us; thus absurdly sacrificing the ends to the means."

...General Wilkinson's need to defeat the threat posed by Burr "constituted a law of necessity and self preservation, rendered the salus populi (Safety of the People) supreme over the written law."

Can’t recall if I read it or heard it, but at least one soldier “counseled” by Hasan committed suicide.

God knows how much damage he caused at Walter Reed among returning soldiers.

And the very impotency of our system that allowed a guy who made no secret of his jihadi sympathies to keep operating.....

I was unaware of this chapter of American history...

I knew that the Spanish had control of that region from some of my own digging. Some of our clan settled in Missouri in the very early days and I found that they were dealing with Spanish officers which suprised me since I knew from history that we bought the territory from the French. The French, as it turns out, had obtained it from the Spanish and left the Spanish officers in place. In fact it was only nominally French for a very short time before being resold to the US. Boone actually lost out on the deal, since his agreements with the Spanish were not honored by the American government.

Daniel Boone’s dealings in opening up the territory meant that he was appointed to office by the local Spanish government and through them he obtained permission to bring in settlers. The first settlers obtained their titles from the Spanish in the region, and Boone was in effect a Spanish government functionary.
