...For "2012," Emmerich set his sites on destroying the some biggest landmarks around the world, from Rome to Rio. But there's one place that Emmerich wanted to demolish but didn't: the Kaaba, the cube-shaped structure located in the center of Mecca. It's the focus of prayers and the site of the Hajj, the biggest, most important pilgrimage in Islam.
"Well, I wanted to do that, I have to admit," the filmmaker told scifiwire.com. "But my co-writer Harald [Kloser] said, 'I will not have a fatwa on my head because of a movie.' And he was right."...

One one POS movie I'll skip...
Skip that and Avatar.
Avatar look just plain God-awful. I’d rather watch Smurf reruns.
Lightening can strike twice—so can meteorites!
The sooner, the better.
“Well, I wanted to do that, I have to admit”

Don’t disturb the planets mental children.
Well, duh. Christians, Jews, Hindus, Buddhists, etc. don't murder filmmakers who offend them!
That being said, "2012" looks like a big CGI-driven suckfest that will look good on my HDTV from a $1 redbox rental after a few months.

Either way, it’s a suckup to the muz. All the Mohammed cartoonists are in the witness protection program somewhere. Don’t peace me off, bro! I keel you!
So courageously artistic, those ‘edgy’ Hollywood types who applaud - or even film - whilst a Crucifix is peed upon, but demur from pushing any Muslim ‘envelopes’.
There ya go...
See #14...
I agree.
I don't think we should be too hard on people who show rational pragmatism.
