Not something that would make national headlines, but did not miss a stunned audience, President Barack Obama became the first American president in 118 years to abstain from the same long tradition of addressing the Daughters Of the American Revolution (DAR) Continental Congress, named after the governing body of the American Colonies during the American Revolution.

Don't her & her son's ancestors go back to pre-Revolutionary America? Thanks.
from the link’s website:
“What could have been so important in the Presidents schedule that would make him miss, in my words dis, Continental Congress? President Obama was meeting with Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin and Russian President Medvedev at the Kremlin and instead addressed the 2009 graduating class of the New Economic School at Gostinny Dvor and later met world leaders at the G8 Summit.”
obviously he had his priorities...cough, cough...
typical white women
President Barack Obama became the first American president in 118 years to abstain from the same long tradition of addressing the Daughters Of the American Revolution (DAR) Continental Congress, named after the governing body of the American Colonies during the American Revolution. It's an even older political tradition called boycotting.
Even though he is more white then Arab and African.
I like that Ittie Bitty.............descriptive.
Hates the country, not a surprise. MSM: Nothing to see here.
With a little bit of work I think there's a case that whole crowd would be eligible for membership in the Oneida Indian tribe (and I may well pursue my own application for that ~ btw, all that information is "secret" so I'm not going to upset the applecart by revealing all that I know.)
Obama's grandmother had one of the most illustrious genealogies anyone in America could have. It's all on the internet back to the Revolution, and in parts earlier. I have much of the information regarding individuals named in the earliest parts of that genealogy and can take a good deal of it back to Scandinavia and France (which is the part in which I've been specializing).
Possibly, but I predict (you heard ti here first), that zero will be the 1st US President to fly Air Force One to Mecca for his Haj...
I don’t know.
Most people in the United States have pre-Revolutionary Colonial ancestors, but may not know it. Just off the top of the head, I’ve got at least five different family lines that go back that far, and at least four out of five of them served to overthrow British monarchic rule.
Of course, everyone has ancestors as old as everyone else’s, but that’s a different discussion... ;’)
No, he won’t be attending the Belles of the Confederacy Ball ‘cause he can’t be queen of the Ball...but let’s just call him “Belle” anyway.
That 'bout sums it up.
My husband’s aunt who is in her 80’s and a lifelong member of DAR. I just sent her the link and boy is she gonna be unhappy. I read all the comments and there were some pissed off little ladies on the site.
He boasted of it at one time. He was schooled abroad and has seemed resentful of the American system.
He lied about his parents coming together 5 years AFTER his birth (5 years+9months after they did it) because of what happened in Selma Alabama.
He spins myths about this nation but does not celebrate anything about it.
Barney Fwank wants that acclaim.
And the fall of the Berlin Wall, also!! He is PATHETIC!!
He already has a list.
The DAR members should now know that Obama is indeed an enemy of the Republic, and of conservatives inn particular.Obama will destroy every one of them if he can.
I detest the bastard, too. But I’m glad he didn’t show up. Having a Marxist show up for a continental congress is more than my frontal lobes can handle.
Yes, he would be a better choice, and he has the dresses to prove it!
Were I a member of the DAR, I would have enjoyed sending the president a thank you note for not showing up.
