Nothing “shifted”. The identical composition was rotated 90 degrees.

Here's my comparison from back then. The Matisse is on the left - the "copy was only rotated and re-sized to match. There are differences - its not an exact copy - but I now understand that if its termed "appropriation" instead of "plagiarism" then its ok. ;-)
