INCREASINGLY, the road to Copenhagen resembles a suburban street on Halloween with the number of climate change freak shows and stunts reaching a nadir in recent weeks. Nicholas Stern says we should turn vegetarian in order to combat climate change. If you must eat meat, eat kangaroos, says Ross Garnaut, because marsupials emit negligible amounts of methane. And that champagne you drank on Melbourne Cup day? Scientists scolded us with a report that a 750ml bottle of bubbly could produce 100 million bubbles, releasing five litres of carbon dioxide.
Yet far from rallying people to the cause of immediate action on climate change, every new cri de coeur may be turning people away. Could it be that those derided as the great unwashed are beginning to ask more questions than their smart political leaders or the bastions of intellectual curiosity in the media?
Late last month, activists gathered at Sydney Opera House to listen to Sydney mayor Clover Moore announce that the time for talk is past.
Already we know that this building, our Opera House, for decades a symbol of optimism and the human spirit, is under threat from global warming, she says.
The Opera House under threat? That would be from rising sea levels, right? Just like the small island nation of Maldives where, last month, the president conducted a cabinet meeting underwater to remind the world that his country would be rendered uninhabitable by rising sea levels. Kitted out in full scuba-diving outfits, Mohamed Nasheed and his ministers sat at a table underwater off the coast of the capital of Male.
As planned, the presidents stunt made headlines across the globe. Send us money - and lots of it - is his message. The media love stunts. They are so easy to report.
Sadly, the media is

I believe the biggest hoax is the illegal alien sitting in The Oval Office - Baraq Hussein 0bama.
The con men are taking over the world.
You might ask, “just how stupid do they think we are?” and the answer would be, “thats neither here nor there. How stupid are your neighbors?”.
And thats when you realize they’ve got you beat.
It was the back-door loophole in democracy thats been there from the beginning. Your neighbors outvote you, and your neighbors are retarded.
These enviro-nazis can't be serious. Don't these dummies know that plants as well as sea plankton need CO2 to live and produce oxygen? This is all about shutting down the economies of western countries and transferring wealth to the turd world. If this were a real concern, China and India would be feeling pressure to sign on, they aren't.
Alas his letter did not make headlines. That is a shame. Morner says there is no rational basis for the hysterical claims that the people of Maldives - or the rest of the world - are threatened by rising sea levels. And he sets out some facts.
Fact number 1: During the past 2000 years, sea levels have fluctuated with 5 peaks reaching 0.6m to 1.2m above present sea level. Fact number 2: From 1790 to 1970 sea levels were about 20cm higher than today. Fact number 3: In the 1970s, the sea level fell by about 20cm to its present level. Fact number 4: Sea levels have remained constant for the past 30 years implying that there are no traces of any alarming ongoing sea level rise. Fact number 5 (and I am paraphrasing here): The notion presented by the President of the Maldives that his country will be flooded is bunkum.

Good point. The Usurper’s occupancy of the White House is certainly a major historic hoax. I call him the biggest con man of all time, who pulled the biggest scam ever.
Globull warming and the Cap and Tax bill, and other such nonsense, will be so costly, so much wealth will be confiscated from The People, and all for a hoax.
Zero is exacting a cost on America as well, monetarily and otherwise. The damage he has done is immeasurable.
The hoax of the century (and all-time) is the convincing of women and girls that they are oppressed, that they are victims, and that they will be fulfilled by having a “career” with a series of bosses telling them what to do, and that they should be having sex at the same rate and irresponsibility as males.
Global warming might be rather high on the list, though.
“your neigbors outvote you and your neighbors are retarded”
That’s how my husband and I feel everytime we go vote NO on another school tax referendum, and our idiot liberal neighbors vote for “YES”! We are usually outnumbered at 30 percent of us wanting no tax hike, and 70 percent of the idiots saying “Heck yes, tax us more!”.
My neighbor who always votes dimocrat, and “yes” on these referendums had the nerve to complain to me about his property tax bill last year. I pointed out he voted for the last 2 referendums, resulting in our bill going up a thousand dollars a year. He had nothing more to say.
This summer he built a big 2 car garage near his house (which has an attached 2 car already). He also added a dormer to the house. Wait until he gets his tax bill next month. My husband and I are waiting to hear the howling from the neighbor when the tax man gets done with him this time around.
We have horribly high property taxes here in Wisconsin. I won’t add a birdhouse, let alone another barn or addition to the house.
End of rant. Thank you.
: )
The global warming alarmists have really been outdoing themselves over the past few months. Methinks they got a bit overconfident. They figured they’d already put out lots of wild exaggerations and outright falsehoods and it succeeded in convincing huge numbers of people (especially the politically critical young adult demographic), so ramping up the wild exaggerations and outright falsehoods would convince more people, right?
Oops, wrong! Many people were predisposed to believe this nonsense, because it dovetailed with their fantasies that by living some romanticized back-to-nature lifestyle and sabotaging “selfish greedy” capitalism they could personally “make a difference” and save the world. But even people with loopy worldviews have a limit, beyond which their eyebrows rise and they stop and think “Hey, wait a minute, WTF?”. These are mostly animal lovers and the “you shouldn’t have pet dogs because they have a huge carbon footprint” surely turned a lot of lightbulbs on in dimly lit minds. The underwater cabinet meeting was so outlandish it was hard to believe it was real and not a Saturday Night Live skit.
Not to mention the rain forests . . .
I’m detecting a ramp up of GW “news” stories and all sorts of “studies” being disseminated in the media in advance of this freak show. I think counter programming with truth and a healthy dose of rational concepts to expose these lies would be appropriately timely.

Actually, the more devastating/deadly hoax was telling humans that what is alive in the womb is merely a glob of cells, a tissue mass of dubious or rather parasitic nature, so carving it out of female human bodies was empowering to women.
That’s a good bit; FNC should clear out a prime time segment for his presentation.
Global Wormhead ping!
The comments at the end are fun and entertaining to read...if you have the time which I don’t as I am building a seawall here on the shore of Humboldt Bay against the next Tsunami of 1799...
