(video) Glenn Beck: Palin may be 3rd party candidate in 2012
youtube ^ | 11/3/09 | Fox News

Posted on 11/03/2009 9:25:23 AM PST by Mozilla

This bombshell from Glenn Beck is about three minutes into the segment on Thursday. Beck said leaving the governor’s mansion in Alaska was a smart move.

Beck: “Smart move. And I think she’s also positioning herself for a third party. By the time this election runs around for the president, I’m sorry, but unless the Republicans and the Democrats wake up, a third party will win.”

We shall see how that works out. Many people are angry at Republicans right now. The message sent to Dede Scozzafava is being noticed in Washington. Believe me. But 3 years is a long time in politics. We shall see.

It is time to begin thinking more about the person being considered for public office than for the party.

Beck on Palin

Also of note:

Why are leftist women jealous of Palin

Having more than two parties used to be normal in this country, so don't count them out.

It still is normal, there are at least 51 parties in America, the "third" parties pulled in a total of 1.4% of the Presidential vote in 2008 with Ralph Nader leading them, the Libertarian second, the conservative third and Cynthia McKinney fourth, even Alan Keyes running for his own personal "third" party won over 47,000 votes.

I am NOT a GOP firster but I am also not a Ron Paul nutter. Have a nice time trying to find anyone or anything you can vote for ( or against for that matter)

Be one of those wonderful patriots who just stay home so they know how mad you are

Why are you so stuck on Ron Paul?

It is your lame attempt to marginalize me by associating me with someone you consider a nutcase.

And you figure that if you do it over and over and over it will stick.

Based on you’re previous attempt, I’d just say you’re dishonest at heart and don’t have problem smearing someone you don’t agree with.

It isn’t just a sign of dishonesty, but of limited intelligence.

As is groveling over the GOP like you do.

Beck is getting dumber by the day.

Clearly he desires to destroy the Republican party, but his imagination is carrying him away. Sarah’s strength will be getting elected as a Republican, and she has stated many times that she will have nothing to do with a third party.

Glen: Get a grip!

"Just speculation. Sara won in Alaska going against the establishment but staying a Republican. I think she has the same plan right now unless something drastic happens."

And that is what she has stated that she wants. - The Dem-Rat trolls here want to divide conservatives to protect Obama, and a third party does that.

"We start now, today, to take back the Republican party, NOT give up and start a new one - that’s just giving the election to DEMOCRATS!"

Amen!

"WE will flip the house."

It can only be done if all of the new congressmen are Republicans.

A third party wave would guarantee Pelosi another term as speaker.

The libertarian party is a house of discontent.

It is made up of loose cannons from the other parties, and features an automatic battle every year over the party platform.

"I don't necessarily support Palin, but I commend her for helping 3rd parties out and I'd like to see the GOP pushed to the side"

You are a dangerous troll!

You wish to prevent a conservative victory, and a third party shift will do exactly that.

You took this out of context; however, I could always choose not to vote. Facts are facts. If the GOP and conservatives split their votes, it will insure that Obama will be reelected. That does not mean that I have to vote for a RINO or the GOP. I could vote for a third party candidate knowing that I am voting for someone that will never be elected. The United States political system is, for better or worse, a two party system.

Is that what they taught you? That you must remain loyal to one or the other party or bad things will happen? If you don't see the problem inherent in remaining loyal to a party no matter how far they shift away from your ideals, I can't help you.

If you can break away from the Republican groupthink for a moment, understand this: simply having a (R) next to a candidate's name doesn't make them a Conservative and if you vote for a liberal who has an (R) next to their name, you are going to get a liberal politician who pushes liberal policies.

That liberal politician with the (R) next to their name is going to do everything they can to convince you that even though they are a liberal, they have an (R) next to their name and therefore are automatically better than the liberal politician with the (D) next to their name and that you must support them from here on out in every election.

I applaud Palin and Beck for pushing the idea that we don't have to put up with liberal Republicans anymore and that we can either get rid of the RINOs or find third party candidates that support our Conservative beliefs.

Your string of strawmen speaks to your lack of understanding of the issue:

Division has always defeated the American people at the ballot box. - Your knee-jerk ignorant response to the normal corruption that the adversary has constantly leveled at that one and only nation that was founded on the gospel of Jesus Christ is working in his favor. - Sow confusion and division, and he will surely reward you with more dissatisfaction and depression.

You accuse me of using strawmen and yet you try and drag religion, which is the biggest strawman of all time, into this? LOL. You literally just dragged a strawman into a conversation where none existed before, all the while trying to accuse me of using strawmen. It's a brilliant strategy on your part, just because it's so over the top.

With that said, don't lecture us on how or why this country was created, talk about why Conservatives should stifle their beliefs and hold their noses and vote for moderates with (R) next to their name.

Feel free to disagree with or shoot down this statement: The only difference between a moderate Republican and a Democrat is the (R) next to their name.

Don't try and turn the topic into a dissertation on why this country was founded, because that is a topic worthy of its own thread. Feel free to ping me if you do make a new thread. I always find those threads interesting.

And just where do you think I have GROVELLED over the GOP?

You are incapabablr of logical thought. I have not marginalized you in anyway.

Seems to me that most of what you have posted on this thread has shown you to be willing to let the country go to hell so then maybe we can fix it.

ALL I have suggested is that cinservatives can exert themselves within the GOP. That somehow has your panties in a bunch. Enjoy your wedgie

Don't flatter yourself LOL!

And just where do you think I have GROVELLED over the GOP?

Each time you state or suggest or imply that the GOP is still the best vehicle and that you are unwilling to step outside the GOP for candidates.

You are incapabablr of logical thought.

A verifiably false statement and gratuitous insult.

I have not marginalized you in anyway.

No, your attempts have not been successful.

Seems to me that most of what you have posted on this thread has shown you to be willing to let the country go to hell so then maybe we can fix it.

Ah...there ya go again! LOL....you insist on staying with the GOP...the same GOP that brought us Dole, Kemp, Bush, Bush, McCain....and you want ME to accept guilt for messing up the country? LOL!

ALL I have suggested is that cinservatives can exert themselves within the GOP.

And if Conservatives are not willing to work OUTSIDE the GOP then the GOP will not change. If it was going to it would have done so already.

But it hasn't.

Blah blah blah you are angry at the wrong person. You are so busy being mad at other conservatives that you are not focusing on the final goal.

If Palin runs 3rd party, and the other two choices are Obama and Flip Romney, I'm "going rogue."

Count on it.
