Thank you, Seekandfind, for empirical evidence in how to kill the golden goose/state.

All immigrants to Texas must provide their past voting record with a valid ID.

Proof why Texas is kicking your ass.
It shouldn’t be this way. Rally up, take your state back.
Doesn’t Duncan Hunter’s son read FR? Can we ping him?

Feels good living here after spending a few years in exile in CA.

Unlike Colorado, which was overrun with California refugees and allowed them do take over what had been a pretty good state, Californicate it, impose “sanctuary,” elect a Democratic governor and turn the place into a welfare state wannabe. Colorado is now California-lite, and without a beach.

“All immigrants to Texas must provide their past voting record with a valid ID.”
And therein is the rub.
There have been other states with low taxes and good economies, but opportunistic liberals leave the poor-performing states and yet take their voting habits with them, eventually ruining the state to which they move.
Destroyed and gutted area (read: Detroit, etc) remain gutted with entrenched government that has no intention of changing, probably forever destroyed.
Reminds me of a plague of locusts.

I hear you.
I assume CA-expats would like to move back home. Let’s educate them on how to make their state livable again.
Surrenduring CA to Mexico and Pelosi, this is wrong and now is the time to take it back.

All immigrants to Texas must provide their past voting record with a valid ID. Hey, I'm a native Texan (born in Houston). If I come back, can I just show my birth certificate at the border? :-)

I’m a conservative property owner that has lived three decades in Texas and three decades in California.
I will take California.
Property taxes in Texas will eat you alive. Here in California I pay 1.025% property taxes.
In Texas I paid 2.5% property taxes and one year they raised the amount by over $1000.00!
Don’t even get me started about the Texas wind, or the too much rain, or the too little rain, or the Fire Ant’s.
However, I do miss those Round Rock Donuts.

Back in the old days there were two elderly gents who played checkers all day next to Round Rock donuts.
Old days = 20 years ago.

...we have several family friends in Texas...they say south Texas is gone...over run by Hispanics with the border becoming more violent thanks to drug cartel influence. Illegals are becoming more and more of a problem, particularly in cities, including Houston. Hispanics aren't a problem - illegals and their anchor babies are.
We need a Joe Arpaio here.

"must prove their voting record . . ."
I love Texas and I dearly want them to secede so I can move there. However, I must admit that I voted for Jimmy Carter, but only because Gerald Ford was such a RINO (abortion supporter etc) and Carter was such a liar he pretended to be conservative, and I was a stupid hippy back then. I am willing to do community service to make amends for the crime of voting Democrat that one time and I hope that Texas will forgive me and allow me in.
