If I get one, I just might fill it out like Christopher Walken did with Tim Meadows.

SNL. When it was funny.

if so do you plan to fill it out?
I’m very concerned about the many personal questions?

Only an idiot would tell the truth.

Say your annual income is $1200, that you are a Black Aleutian Indian, you have 23 kids, you have no indoor plumbing but you have +5 TVs.

Screwing with data is one of the few fun remaining American prerogatives.

No, this is OK — nothing controversial here.

Welcome.

just an old skit where Walken is a disheveled man who says 30 people live in his apartment, along with ferrets, etc. He is confused.....

I filled mine out, but didn’t know the answers to many of the questions. How the hell am I suppose to know how much money I get each year is or what I pay for insurance? I could guess... but they didn’t ask for a guess.

I have enough trouble remembering our anniversary, how do I know what her major was in college?

I got one. Attached a note detailing the number of people in my household.

That's all they're getting. This is supposed to be a simple headcount.

I used to work as a contractor for the Census. I can’t tell you any details because I’m under a lifetime oath of secrecy. However, I can tell you that every bit of personal identifying information is scrubbed out of the records; the records aren’t kept forever and must be actively destroyed; and only statistical summaries remain.

The ACS is intended to replace the long form in the Census.

You can fill it out or not, but the Census Bureau really does keep tight control over who gets the data. You have better luck robbing Fort Knox.

There have been some really great threads about these surveys, their legality, and how to deal with them. I'm sure a search of FR would turn up a few.

I received one a couple years ago. It is not new. Neither are you obliged to fill it out.

I loved the part where they say they are not interested in personal data at all, but merely job and education-related information. Then they ask for names and social security numbers and the names of employers and so on ad Nauseam. I filled mine out with John Does and x's for all other identifying data. They must not have liked it very well. They sent me another one! That one I shit-canned. Haven't heard from them since.

Oh, I’m sure they did... back before Bill Ayers, Nancy Pelosi, Barack Obama, Rahm Emanuel, and George Soros came along...

I plan on shit-canning the FIRST one, if I get one. Thanks for the info.

I have been adamant in the past with regard to personal information. I have told census workers over the phone, in person and by mail that they have no right to ask any more than how many live in my house....and that’s all the info I give. They have tried hard to get more, but couldn’t force the issue.

Let’s hope that works this time around...cuz jail, fines, etc...don’t look like fun to me.
