Palin's Latest Facebook Note
As the vice president knows, I have always advocated an all-of-the-above approach to American energy independence. Among other things, my alternative energy goal for Alaska sits at 50 percent because Alaska reached more than 20 percent during my term in office. The Obama-Biden administration, on the other hand, recently announced a renewable goal of only 25 percent. However, domestic drilling should remain a top priority in order to meet Americas consumption and security needs.
The vice presidents extreme opposition to domestic energy development goes all the way back to 1973 when he opposed the Alaska pipeline bill. As Ann Coulter pointed out, Biden cast one of only five votes against the pipeline that has produced more than 15 billion barrels of oil, supplied nearly 20 percent of this nations oil, created tens of thousands of jobs, added hundreds of billions of dollars to the U.S. economy and reduced money transfers to the nations enemies by about the same amount.
This nonsensical opposition to American domestic energy development continues to this day. Apparently the Obama-Biden administration only approves of offshore drilling in Brazil, where it will provide security and jobs for Brazilians. This election is about American security and American jobs.
Theres one way to tell Vice President Biden that were tired of folks in Washington distorting our message and hampering our nations progress: Hoffman, Baby, Hoffman!
- Sarah Palin
Which you are proposing she do...on Facebook.
She gave up her best chance to do that when she resigned as governor.
She also gave up accumulating legal bills to fight bogus ethics complaints, which had necessitated a $600K home equity loan.
Facebook postings and speeches to party faithful are a mighty poor substitute for actual political leadership.
Facebook postings are what they are. Welcome to the world of politics 2009.
And, try to post sober, man...you're embarassing yourself here.
Interesting. So Tina Fey's parodic imitation of Sarah has harmed her in the public’s eye, in your estimation?
“”Presidential” in Sarah Palin’s case would involve demonstrating that she is an intellectually serious person who is able to formulate, articulate, and carry out serious policies on a very broad range of issues.”
Perhaps to you and other people who are intellectually oriented. However, the majority of the American electorate is NOT intellectual, but elects based upon their “gut feel” in the last week before the election. Perceived intellectuals have NOT done well in Presidential elections.
I also am an intellectual, but I am not concerned with perceptions, but results. Sarah Palin’s success in Alaska is all out of proportion to her time in office. She successfully cleaned up corruption in Alaskan politics in her own party, successfully negotiated a pipeline deal that had been hanging fire for 20 years, and eliminated distracting attacks on her and her family by delegating to governorship to her capable and conservative vice governor.
“She gave up her best chance to do that when she resigned as governor. Facebook postings and speeches to party faithful are a mighty poor substitute for actual political leadership.”
You must be under 40. After Reagan gave up the CA governorship to campaign for the GOP candidacy in 1976 (which he narrowly lost to Ford), he wrote a regular newpaper column. He was largely written off politically because of his age and his loss in 1976. None the less, he won the primary in 1980 and the rest is history.
GO SARAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Read this (the entire article) - maybe it will give you a different perspective on what she’s doing (and it’s not running for president!):

Yes, and the reporterettes say "Questions remain..." The problem here is no one can take you seriously...and it's not possible to get through one thread you post on with out throwing the BS flag.
There are any number of sources for her Alaska energy plan, speeches she's given, articles she's weitten...just Google.
No one is responsible for your ignorance, but you...and if it was campaign advice you were offering, she's doing just fine without it.
Biden said. "I surely know what they're against, but I don't know what they're for
Sound familiar?
To counter that, Sarah Palin needs to demonstrate that she's intellectually capable of dealing with the items on the list. She must show that she can back those things up with realistic and achievable policies; and she's got to demonstrate that she can defend them in debate.
She may be up to the task, but I haven't been impressed by her attempts so far. This facebook post is unfortunately typical...
She obviously doesn't have your vote, but I suspect there's no way she could get it...and you are, after all, the only person whose support you can pledge.
As for your political advice, it has an odor reminiscent of John McCain's campaign. That's the last place she should, or will, go.
I honestly don't have a beef if you don't like her for president, but your disdainful attempt to portray her as the SNL caricature of the left borders on, as others have said, trolling. Clearly she is a winning element for the conservative base, which should be the most important factor for any Republican politician. Independents (i.e., squishy go-alongers) can be dealt with along the way, but without core support it's pretty much a moot point.
Well, that explains a lot. You're obviously running in non-conservative, or even liberal circles and absorbing their twisted viewpoints. Choose your friends more wisely.
Their impression of Sarah Palin is informed by their own dislike of her mannerisms and put off by her apparent lack of knowledge about important current events. Her performance during the campaign did not help her in that regard.
Utter rubbish. Their "impression" of Sarah Palin was wholly formed by the unreasoning and vitriolic attacks of the radical left during the campaign. Sarah Palin never uttered a single word, or did anything to warrant the level of blind hatred and dislike she's gotten from rank and file liberals.
I personally witnessed this reaction amongst liberals in my own family, not 24 hours after Sarah made her debut on the national stage. What possible due diligence could any of them have done on her in that short amount of time, for them to have formed such negative opinions of her? Answer: absolutely none.
Any rational person who simply listened to what she had to say, and who gave her record in politics even a cursory glance could not have formed anything but a favorable opinion of her, at that moment. Yet liberals all over the country immediately began hurling insults and invalidations her way.
Again, every rational person who was watching understood exactly where that was coming from.
It appears to me that you are foursquare in sync with the liberal mindset regarding Sarah Palin; most likely because you have close associations with them, and (strangely) respect their opinions.
I am talking about r9etb! It used to be when looking for a leader of any sort the first thing considered was honesty I believe that was what Obama used to persuade people, that he was honest and it worked because McCain was not that great of a candidate.McCain was the vote against Obama and we all know it and if it hadn’t been for Sarah, McCain would have received even less support. I want an ordinary person who is honest, loves their country, humble and ready for a fight if need be, someone that truly wants to serve the people not be adored. Someone who respects the people of this country! They don’t even have to be brilliant just good common sense for crying out loud.Someone who believes in God not that they are God. Politicians in both parties have been corrupted by power and selfishness, greed, lack of faith in God and too much faith in a prideful way that they are the answers to all things. The other evening my husband and I were out and there was a mix of people, races, religion, we all got along, cordial to one another. As I watched it reminded me of how politicians can cause great divisions in this country especially race. The dems have control of the black community because too many of their leaders are corrupt, Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson, just like Margaret Sanger hoped would happened.Booker T Washington talked of people whose job is racism. And now the dems are going after the hispanic vote the same way, illegal immigration. If they succeed they will have that voting block just like the black community. So what exactly are the GOP doing to ready themselves for 2010? supporting a liberal, prochoice, candidate who then supported her liberal dem opponent. It will have to be we the people to find a candidate-V 2010-1012! And lots of prayers!
All of that puts the U.S. in a position that war for oil or
complete economic collapse will be our only choices.
You can't frustrate every source of domestic energy
without consequences. Our enemies will blackmail us
to the extent that we are vulnerable to blackmail.
The Democrats are leading us into a real war for oil.
A war we won't have the energy to fight. A war we don't need to fight because we have our own resources.
Not presidential? Do you consider Obama presidential?
And Zero is
Unfortunately she’s too calm and respectful.
Absolutely correct. The marxists have been writing the textbooks-not to mention running academia and the media-for decades. The fascism of Wilson and FDR is certainly not taught, though they both led the way in the huge expansion of government.
Denis Leary wrote a song about you and made a couple of bucks singing it.
You are the person, who after the town gets nuked, would call the insurance company to file a claim.
You also probably complain about the food when you are at a funeral reception.
You are intellectually lazy to put out a post like this, when the paragraph above describes the actions that Palin has taken officially to promote energy independence.
Like I said before, Denis Leary spelled it out, so that we don’t have to.
