You mean a well managed company doesn’t need bailouts?

I’m sure a news story on this eventually will mention Ford wasn’t part of the governable motors plan, but, not just yet in the few I’ve seen.

Great.
Get rid of the UAW and they’ll be able to maintain their financial health.

Yeah but think how much more they would have made if they would have received a gov’t bailout.

Ford is the most popular car in Europe. That is where the factories and workers are.
What’s good for globalism sucks for the American working force.

I'm not crazy about Fords but its the ONLY one of the "Big 3" I'd buy. I'd also be open to any of the "foreign" makes being built here. That includes the new KIA Sorento being built in GA. Similar to my beloved '98 Dodge Durango.

From the
Ford earnings press release:
Ford, Lincoln and Mercury third quarter sales were 5 percent higher than a year ago in the U.S., making Ford the only full-line manufacturer to report a sales increase in the period. In September, Ford sales were 6 percent lower than a year ago. This followed a 2 percent increase in July and a 17 percent increase in August, marking the first time in four years that Ford is reporting a quarterly sales increase. Translation: It was all due to "Cash for Clunkers" moving up car sales into this quarter. We'll pay for it next quarter. Good for us that we weren't dumb enough to take the Obamanation bribe, but we aren't out of the woods yet. A dead cat bounce if there ever was one.

Sounds like a “excess profit” and that is something the Zero won’t be able to keep his hands off of.

I was a Dodge person until the bailout, looks like Ford from now on for my trucks. Ditto on the Dodge Durango, we had a ‘99’ with the 5.9 liter, it was a rocket on wheels, we loved that vehicle.

OF COURSE FORD GOT A BAILOUT!!!!!
IT WAS CALLED CASH FOR CLUNKERS!!!!
It is the only reason FORD made a profit in Q3....they had cars on the lots while GM & Chrysler did not because they were shut down during their gov't-controlled bankruptcy farce.

Yes Ford made money off the stupid clunker program. Just as they won’t make money this quarter because there is no clunker program.
But they did not get a bailout and are generally a stronger company than Govt Motors.
