Where have all those Obamenthusiasts who were so visible in 2008 been hiding this year? In this New Republic article Lydia DePillis seems to think that the problem is that Organizing For America has been run as a top-down organization, rather than as a bottom-up movement, giving the folks out there no sense of ownership. She asks, “Can a grassroots organization run in the top-down style of a political machine really accomplish much—let alone change the terms of debate on any given issue?”
I think there’s something more going on here. Many Obamenthusiasts were thrilled by the idea of putting Obama in and getting George W. Bush out. They achieved their goal a year ago. What more is left? Did these people really expend all this energy to reduce the percentage of people without health insurance? “We are the change we are seeking,” Obama said during the campaign. Well, the Obamenthusiasts got that change. Now they can go back to gardening or Sudoku.

It’s ok, they were at the office that I worked at earlier this year before we were all laid off. Should have seen their faces when the big guy told us that because of Democratic policies coming down the pike- we were going to be losing our jobs. We were first told of this in January 2009 and the axe finally fell in June. One lady who was a self-described progressive almost exploded on the spot. Hilarious.
They are in my office too, but I work in the People’s Republic of Maryland. They’ll be the last to figure him out.
Many people, most definitely those on the Left are loathe to admit a mistake and will defend any choice they make until the bitter end.
Should ODUMBO be caught having sex with a minor boy the response from the Left would be the same as it was to Clinton’s being nailed, “so what” and “It doesn’t have anything to do with him doing his job”

I went round and round with my 7 year old on why, whether he intended to or not, he was responsible for tripping and hurting his little brother and that he owed him an apology.

My life long Republican and normally sane nephew who lost his mind after marrying a liberal in a liberal family voted for Obama. He gave some convoluted, twisted himself like a pretzel excuse about the Republicans abusing their power and spending. Truth is, I think, he wanted to be like the moonbats in the family and didn't have enough spine to be different.
The he left the country. I told him, he had no right to leave the country. He needed to stay here and suffer the results of what he voted for.
Yes, they are still in my office too. Dyed in the wool socialists who envy Europe for their vacation and "free" healthcare, but funny, I don't see them going to live there. What happened to Obamamania? Reality. Unfortunately the ones who still support him have no concept of reality.
If you think people are disillusioned now, wait until The Great Spreader passes cap and tax er cap and trade and revokes the Bush tax cuts. Plus gasoline prices are rising again...must be that damn Bush calling the oil companies and telling them to raise them. At least that’s what a number of my co-workers thought. Except Bush isn’t the president anymore. It’s very difficult for me not to rag them by asking them: why is Obama telling the oil companies to raise gas prices?
Give the Leftist media credit for both. For eight years they unfairly demonized Bush's every move and then steadfastly refused to examine anything about Obama, his background, his qualifications, his associates, etc.
