November and winter is now upon us and it is almost frightening to realise it is almost a year ago that the election was held that made us realise that the previous 8 years of President George W Bush time as President was drawing to an end.
Even though it has been about 9 months since George W Bush left office for many it seems another age so much seems to have changed and many things we hold dear now seem to mean nothing.
We miss the class and character that George W Bush, his wife and of course his father and mother portrayed to the American nation and the world.
I hope the following photos will help us remember time of maybe great sadness and challenge for the nation but also a feeling that there was somebody at the helm that was strong, confident and above all put his love for his country and fellow men first and always did and said what he believed to be the right thing to do.
Enjoy your visit to Sanity Island

Thank you, Kaslin, for posting these lovely photos! It was great to see them and hear them speak. I miss them so much!
Have a great weekend in MN. Safe travels.
I miss them more with each passing day
I'm sure the massacre by the terrorist at Ft. Hood took everyone's attention from most everything else...rightfully so. Please know many appreciated your effort even though they may not have posted.
Just listening to Laura’s interview. She said her book will come out MAY! Can’t wait!
A lovely interview - thanks for posting it!!!

In Wide-Ranging Interview, Former First Lady Laura Bush Tells Maggie Rodriguez When It Sank In
You are welcome! :)
Thank you, Luvya! That clip was sweet. I look forward to the whole interview!
I’m baaaaaaaaaaack! Hubby and I survived our 2,000 mile roadtrip together — we only threatened to kill each other once or twice!
We had an AWESOME trip: the weather was perfect, the scenery was beautiful, the SMU/Highland Park area was impressive, and, oh yea, we got to see/hear our beloved President and First Lady again!
Unfortunately, the auditorium was so dark that our cell phone photos and video really didn’t ‘turn out’. Fortunately, the photos already posted look great and the videoclip linked below REALLY captures the event (including President Bush’s emotional comments at the end of his speech!):

I’m so exhausted after our trip (and my first day back at the office) that I’m going to sign off now and ‘hit the sack’. Tomorrow or Wednesday, I hope to post a brief overview (with photos — are you ready ohiowfan?!) of our visit to various Bush-related sites around SMU/Dallas.
Until then . . .
Thanks for checking in! I know you all must have had a wonderful time on your looooooong trip!. Can hardly wait to see the pictures, and to hear all your stories! Thanks for the links and do look forward to watching the videos of OUR president!
Glad you had such a great trip, Deb! Can’t
wait til you’re rested and back to speed
and get your impressions and pics up.
So...does our President look fabulous? ;*)
Have a good rest. Looking forward to the rest of your report and pics.
Thanks for posting the pics, Kaslin! They look great...really like Lady Laura’s suit.
I must say, I've come to really enjoy Greta's interviews. She also did a good job.
Kaslin, thank you, so much, for posting the great pics of our wonderful W and beautiful Lady Laura. A smile automatically comes to my face when I look at pictures of these great Americans. Not too much to smile about these days so these pics are very welcome!
We are so glad you are back (and both alive!)! Can’t wait to hear your thoughts. I will look at the links you posted—thank you! Again, so glad you went and look forward to your report!
