Media Release

WATERTOWN, N.Y., November 1, 2009  —  Matching a pledge that they made to Republican candidate Dede Scozzafava, the House GOP leadership has now promised to offer Conservative Doug Hoffman "the next available" seat on the House Armed Services Committee if he wins Tuesday's vote.

Here's the full statement issued today.

“Doug Hoffman has our full support for the next available seat on the House Armed Services Committee so he can best serve the interests of Fort Drum and the troops and military families of New York’s Twenty-Third Congressional District.

“The strategic and economic importance of this military base to Central and Northern New York demands that anyone representing this district be in a position to support its needs.

“John McHugh’s leadership on Armed Services was a great asset to the people of the North Country and Doug Hoffman is ready to carry on that legacy as their next congressman.”

New York’s Twenty-Third Congressional District encompasses all or part of 11 counties throughout the central and northern part of the Empire State. The district includes Fort Drum, home of the Army’s 10th Mountain Division. Over 12% of the people living in New York’s Twenty-Third Congressional District are military veterans."

Yeah, too bad they didn't support him, in the election.

Meanwhile Scuzzy will probably become a czar or highly-paid lobbyist for her Dim loyalty. It’s good to be on Bambi’s side...

They just did. That little seat on the committee is worth big bucks to his district (unfortunately - spending should be decided based on the best use of our tax dollars), so the promise should help him (a little) to win in a couple of days.

The Republicans promised to put Dede Scozzafava on the armed services committee?

That’s about as pathetic as it comes.

He’d make a good addition I think. He’d be one of the minority who had actually worn a uniform who is actually serving on the committee; It’s also a good bet that he’ll not be the champion of homosexualizing the military that we know Dede could be and probably would be.
