A Knox County jury delivered the death sentence this afternoon to the ringleader in the torture slayings of a young Knoxville couple following a carjacking.
The same panel of seven men and five women who convicted Lemaricus Davidson, 28, in the 2007 attack on University of Tennessee student Channon Christian, 21, and her boyfriend Christopher Newsom, 23, decided his fate.
Davidson was found guilty of more than 30 counts, including felony murder and premeditated murder of each victim. The jury had a choice of a life sentence mandating a minimum of 51 years in prison, life without parole with no chance of release or the death penalty.

According to news reports, Christian and Newsom had gone on a date at a local restaurant on Saturday, January 6, 2007, but did not return home. During their night out, the couple was “hijacked, bound and blindfolded and taken back to Lemaricus Devall ‘Slim’ Davidson’s rented house on Chipman Street.”[4]
Christian’s parents found her abandoned Toyota 4-Runner two blocks away from the Chipman Street house the following Monday with the help of her mobile phone provider. An envelope recovered from the vehicle yielded fingerprint evidence that led police to Lemaricus Davidson and 2316 Chipman Street. When police went to the address on Tuesday, January 9, they found the home unoccupied and Christian’s body in a trash can in the kitchen.
According to the testimony of the Knox County Acting Medical Examiner Dr. Darinka Mileusnic-Polchan at the subsequent trial of Eric Boyd, Newsom was repeatedly raped and then blindfolded, gagged, arms and feet bound and his head covered. Barefoot, he was either led or dragged outside the house to a set of nearby railroad tracks. He was shot in the back of the head, the neck, and the back, and his body then set on fire.
Christian’s death came only after hours of sexual torture, medical examiner Mileusnic-Polchan testified. Christian suffered horrific injuries to her vagina, anus and mouth. She was not only raped but savaged with “an object,” possibly a broken chair leg, the doctor testified. She was beaten in the head. Some type of chemical was poured down her throat, and her body, including her bleeding and battered genital area, likely scrubbed with the same solution - all while Christian was alive, the forensic expert said. She was then “hog-tied,” with curtains and strips of bedding, her face covered tightly with a small trash bag and her body stashed inside five large trash bags before being placed inside a large trash can and covered with sheets. Christian died slowly, suffocating, the medical examiner said.[5]

Good for the jury. I hoped they would have the courage to do what was right. I hope the families can gain a little bit of peace from this. I don't know how they have managed to stay for all the proceedings the way they have. I am not sure I would have the strength. Then the judge fusses at them for "impugning the defense counsel" while said defense team accuses their kids of buying drugs and sleeping around.
Time to storm their barricades again, even if it means confronting their shills on the street as they do their “remotes” and demand why not?

The fact that they didn’t all get the death penalty is...well, actually, no suprise at all. Frankly, we’re nuts.
I can’t think of a punishment fitting of this monster.
What was the jury’s composition? Maybe Eric Holder can help. Perhaps after ten years on Death Row, when some people have forgotten, Davidson can become a radical icon as his volunteer lawyers try angle after angle to first change his death sentence to life, and then to parole.
A close friend has a perfect plan for scum like this: Turn them over to the victim’s family who can either work the sob to death or kill him in a manner of their choosing. For these bastards, I kinda like a rectal impalement over a week or so. Bet that would make the next herd of animals to think twice before committing a similar crime.
But then, my friend’s method would not support the multibillion buck PRISON INDUSTRY here.
