British Columbias waters have washed ashore yet another disarticulated foot.
Two men walking along the beach at No. 6 Road and Triangle Road in Richmond found the sneaker-clad foot lying in the sand Tuesday night. Inside the size 8 1/2 white Nike running shoe was the decomposing remains of a human right foot. Its the seventh sneaker-clad discovered on B.C. shores since 2007. Theres no indication if its a male or female as of yet, coroner Jeff Dolan told The Province Wednesday. At first glance it doesnt match any of the other feet. The first foot was found on Jedidiah Island in August 2007.
Six days after the first find, a mans right foot was found on Gabriola Island.
A third foot was found in February 2008 on Valdez Island and was later matched to the fifth foot, which was discovered in June 2008 on Westham Island.
Two feet found in May 2008 on Kirkland Island and in November 2008 near Finn Slough in Richmond were identified as belonging to the same woman.
These could be people who have come from outside the province when they entered the water in B.C., Dolan said.
They could have come here from another province or state and no one knew.
A DNA sample from the latest foot will be compared against missing person cases and other unidentified remains for possible matches.
Dolan said there is no evidence of foul play as all of the feet appear to have become disarticulated from the body through natural processes.
Disarticulated feet do occasionally wash ashore although not in high records like B.C. has recently seen.
Lightweight running sneakers can be particularly buoyant, protecting the remains from critters while also helping the shoe to pop up and float along the waters surface.

I believe the line is:
"Come quick Watson! The game is afoot!"
Hah!
Authorities are trying to get a leg up on the situation.
Is there a significant increase in the number of folks hoofing it to (or from) B.C.?
Too late...you just did. :-)
Is it mine? Mine is a EEE!
OH, whew! It’s still there. Just went to sleep.
I thought “Dexter” was shot in Miami.
Government run healthcare.
Col Mustard in the Parlor with the candelabra? Thats my guess and I’m sticking with it. I know for sure if I was going to go for a walk in BC, I would make it a point to wear loafers.
All toe boat employees in the vicinity ought be questioned.
“At first glance it doesnt match any of the other feet.” That’s Sherlock talking.
That could help explain why just the tennis shoes with foot are showing up.
Sea burials?
Lost at sea victems with the currents bringing them to land, coincidently?
Interesting mystery.
I occasionally lose a sock but never with the shoe and foot attached.
Sneakers thrown over a power or phone line points the way to illegal drug sales.
Just a little comment here...but all of the islands off the coast of Canada on the Pacific side....are loaded with drug-growing operations. There is a vast competition of effort going on, and some folks step on the “feet” of other folks...and then get some type of retribution.
It's possible that your estimate may be on the low side. Especially now that the socialists are using the same words to mean several different things.
