Glory be, the NRCC listening to the folks. Now if Gingrich backs off we could have a winner in Hoffman. Good news, good news indeed.

Is it because Hoffman is winning, or because Owens is?

Maybe the NRCC could share their polling results?

The NRCC tells me directly that they are only spending money on anti-Owens ads. The anti-Hoffman YouTube? Gone. The anti-Hoffman press releases? Gone. The anti-Hoffman everything else? Gone.

The pro-Dede Scozzafava stuff? Gone too.

The RNC ground crews? They are pulling out to New Jersey.

The Dede Scozzafava campaign says this is all false. Then again, they say she is a Republican too.

A couple weeks ago the RNC would have been ahead of the coming train, their actions today come only after the train has run them over. The RNC is pathetic.

GO HOFFMAN!!!

Now— will the GOP learn from this? Or will they just look for different tactics?

Looks like they haven’t learned.....or they would publicly announce their mistake in not hearing the voice of the people in the past, and a commitment to finding “Republican Candidates” that espouse the will of “Republican Voters.”

A public, thanks, but no thanks to Dede would be step two!

Send money to and support to Hoffman, step three....

not holding my breath...

but this news does give me hope in the commitment of the people of this great country!

They are getting the message. Perhaps they can get the 200 to 300 grand back from Dede to defeat Murtha or Grayson or Mullholan.

For some time I’ve had a RNC survey/fund raiser letter on my desk. Been thinking about how to express my disappointment with the Republican Party.

Finally found my response earlier this week. In big, bold red ink wrote the following on the form and mailed it back in their postage paid envelope.

“One Word - One Question”
“Scozzafava!”
“Are you insane?”

Spending time and money on Dede is a waste, she is at 20% in the polls with 22% undecided, with the lead candidate at 31%, she effectively would have to win 50% of the undecides to just tie the leader at this point, and that’s not going to happen.

The R party of NY definately picked a weak horse for this race, hopefully they and the national party will learn a hard lesson here. I still think Hoffman is the underdog to win this thing, but hopefully it will wake up the RNC et al that these kind of schlubs are not viable candidates.

OK.
Next step is to announce support for Hoffman or ask Dede to withdraw.

Conceding defeat is what the old GOP did with their RINO candidates. The new GOP picks conservative winners.

Voters in NY’s - 23 sure have the chance to show the nation that politics as usual doesn’t cut it anymore. I’m praying for Hoffman.

New Jersey could use the help, since it’s close here.

The RNC ground crews? They are pulling out to New Jersey.

If Christie loses by 1% they will be entirely to blame for blowing $200,000 on Scuzzi instead.

If Hoffman does indeed win in NY-23 on Tuesday, I wonder how long before the Republicans in Congress start trying to woo him into declaring himself a Republican?

I think Hoffman should use his “Independent” and “Conservative” statue to it’s fullest. Hoffman, if elected, should tell the Republicans that he will caucus with them, but he will not “join” or “rejoin” the Republican Party.

He should seek several plumb committee assignments in exchange for caucusing with the Republicans and being amenable to their agenda (this of course assumes the Republicans actually HAVE an agenda and the guts to pursue it).

Hoffman should also demand of the Republicans that they NOT fund an NRCC candidate in his district NY-23 next year, and that they apologize to the voters in his district for offering up a candidate such as Scozzafava.

He won’t get all these concession — but he ought to have the audacity to try. He would be in a strong position compared to the weak (kneed) Republicans in Congress right now.
