CFA Executive Director: "While I admire Newt's intelligence and respect him as a fellow Catholic, his crass, political calculation in endorsing such a pro-abortion candidate sends an unfortunate signal that party loyalty is more important than morality. Newt needs to examine his conscience for so publicly flouting the Church's doctrine on abortion and gay marriage."

uh, sorry, never liked newt too much...and he was never my messiah...and how do you know it’s just ONE thing that i disagree with him on?? if you’re going to insult me by calling me a hypocrite, atleast find out what my views are instead of running your mouth on things you know nothing about. thanks.
Yes...recent convert
LOL......you know I was being sarcastic..(I hope)...
However, since then Gingrich has tried to be the center of attention and make everything about him. He self destructed as Speaker and had to resign. He let his ego get in the way and was consistently outmaneuvered by Clinton, the Democrats and the MSM.
Lately, however, he has been particularly dishonorable and self promoting. His appearances with Pelosi in support of cap and trade were unprincipled and contemptible. His recent appearances with Sharpton, a dishonest race hustler and advocate of racial violence have been despicable. His recent support of Scozzafava and attacks on Hoffman are yet more examples of this.
Gingrich is not a principled conservative any more than he is sincere in his new Catholic faith when he promotes someone who works to increase the killing of innocent unborn children and push a pro homosexual agenda.
you are more than welcome to disagree, FRiend, as we are still in America where you have that right.
however, it seems like you people who like newt assume that we who do not only have ONE reason not to...maybe if you were to ask us questions about WHY we don’t, you might find out where we stand... instead you accuse us of being “destructive” to the conservative movement...once again, before you insult us, try and find out the facts...thanks.
Awesome analysis Manc!!! Spot-on!!!
...and Kennedy
I know.
Newt, the Republican Al Gore.
Newt was very instrumental in the Republican takeover of Congress in 1994. He had had a lifetime to study the majority democrat congress way of doing business.
His first serious mistake came in early 1995, when he thought the rules of the House-media-country would stay the same, with the only difference being Republicans in majority positions.
How blind he was! He never adjusted to the new playing field. Not understanding the Rules is no excuse, and it is a certain defeat.
He kept living in the past, and thought he would get the treatment that 40 years of Democrat Speakers had gotten.
He has academic brilliance, but as a Leader he was not very good at all! Compound that with cheating on his high profile wife while the House was running Impeachment Hearings on a sitting president who was an adulterer, and you have an example of personal interest way superceding leadership essentials.
I have NO respect for him.
my mother in law is in Quincy and I have had this argument with her every time.
Newt has been off the reservation a lot lately.
This is not "(1 thing)" - It comes on the heels of his cozying up to Pelosi on global warming and Sharpton on our "racist" schools.
So you may now return to reality and stop throwing sophomoric barbs at others.
Church going Catholics did Not vote for zero.
He is a has-been of no relevance trying to shill for the center to advance his career.
Weeks ago, Newt was still a messiah to many.
#####
No, he wasn’t. He has demonstrated over and over again that he is willing to be anything to anyone to get some camera time.
Will you please tell “Ma” to vote for Tim Cahill for Governor next year? He’s Irish!
Blah.
Hypocrites.
As I understand it, the race didn’t have a primary, but for some reason the New Yorkers went with a liberal for the Republican nominee. Gingrich, who is part of the reason the GOP lost their majority and part of the reason we have a broken party split between Rinos and Conservatives, is just wanting to win at any cost.
So like Newt’s brethren across the aisle he is willing to support people who are bad for America. What that means for us Americans is that if this bozo woman wins then it is no different than a democrat winning and a far left liberal at that. Do we want another Lindsey Gramnesty or a Susan Collins or Olympia Snowe or Arlen Spectre or John McCain? Heck No. They are the reason why the republican party lost the conservative base last year and the Stimulus passed and the party lost the election and media could easily pick apart the Republican agenda because these Rinos ruined everything they pledged in 2000 and in 1994.
So I have to say I am no Fan of Newt. His time has come and pass. He can still go on shows and blabb. He can still put out books and dvds, but frankly anyone who was in charge of the GOP like he was could have stopped what we have now a long time ago. And instead he created the problems now within the Republican party that lead us to the rise of Obama and his tyranny.
Gingrich is not just toast to me, he is completely burnt toast.
