Just another reason I won’t vote for Meg —— I will NOT EVER support a RINO.

“Can we get a fair program where people stand at the back of the line, they pay a fine, they do some things that would ultimately allow a path to legalization?”

Uh, Meg, I think that is called Amnesty.

I had thought MW had some promise, but she is dead to me now.

Just the problem that needs endless chatter. Can't drill for oil, can't drill for gas, can't build gas or oil pipelines.
Can't expand our power lines, can't build nuclear plants. Can't build refineries. Our government has just about run up a debt that can never be paid off. (This so teachers and government workers don't lose their jobs) Mind you all those can'ts could actually save our economy.

How about a “path to legalization” for energy production?

For all of those who thought she was soooo great, (she was an adviser to McQueeg during the election cycle) get real.

Just another RINO looking to help destroy this country like she did to HP.

Same ol’ worn out Chit!

Republican gubernatorial candidate Meg Whitman spoke out on immigration policy issues yesterday, saying it is “simply not practical” to deport the estimated 12.5 million illegal immigrants living and working in the United States.

In other words, "the government hasn't done the job it was supposed to do for twenty years and it would be just too much hard work to reverse the results of our dereliction of duty."

Isn't that what she's really saying?

What if a governor took the same approach on the state's criminals? I.e., we can't catch them all...so let's just legalize them.

Is pig-headed shiftlessness a necessary credential for public office?

Music to the RNC’s ears. I’m sure they’re preparing a BIG, FAT check for her election fund.

“The former chief executive of online auction company eBay made her remarks after a two-hour ride-along with two U.S. Border Patrol agents.”

That was certainly a cunning stunt.

We need to have a bigger quota for Latin Americans (and a smaller one for Muslims, although just the reverse is happening) so that more can come in legally. That said, if we’re going to do legalization of people already here (”amnesty”), we have to have some standards.

I was very sorry that people here opposed the Bush plan so much, because it would have been possible to work with his plan and we could have demanded things from it. The plan favored and in fact mandated the learning of English and US civics, background checks to make sure we weren’t getting druggies or criminals, verifiable ID for immigrants, etc.

I knew this was the best we were going to get. I knew that when the Dems got in, they were going to put in a plan that required nothing and was just aimed at legalizing people they thought would vote for them. In fact, I bet when the final plan comes out, Latin Americans (many of whom are very entrepreneurial and quite conservative) will be at the bottom of the list and it will be mostly people from Muslim countries in Africa and the ME who will be allowed in legally.

Thee is already such a path: leave the country that you are in illegally, and apply to re-enter legally next time. No one has a right to be here except for citizens and those born to them. What the hell is so difficult about that?

Every time I pick up the newspaper and read about a local criminal arrest, more than half the time it's someone just breaking the laws that Americans can't be bothered to break. And they're breaking a lot of them at once.

Meg was here in San Diego yesterday.
I like the secure the border , and going after the people who help cause the illegals to come her, the idiots who give them jobs.

The get to the back of the line go through the process legally is not my choice BUT, the other option: who are the thousands of people going be to search inch by inch all over the U.S. to find over 12 million illegals while they
are on the move to not be picked up.

Doing this while MSM, liberal orgainzations, etc. make this
a TV event, cameral following the search parties all over the U.S. picking up the illegals over a period of
a few years. Only the liberals won’t just watch on TV, they will go through courts, the blow back will be ugly
in the streets and in the end what few of the over 12 million are picked up are going no place.

I would like to see them all go back but the above is the reality.
I live in San Diego, 20 miles north of the largest and busiest border crossing in the world. S.D. - Tijuana

we already have a path to legalization. it begins at the border, where a person enters the country legally and applies for citizenship or resident alien status. are we going to give refunds to all the fools who paid us for those things after we toss free citizenship to anyone who ignores our laws?

There is a path already.

1. Go home.
2. Fill out proper paperwork and send it in.
3. Learn to speak English.
4. Get in line and wait.
5. Answer when your name is called.
6. Get Visa, move to America.
7. Get a farkin’ job, pay taxes, obey the law, study for Citizenship exam.
etc., etc., etc.

Follow the process. The process will set you free and make all of your dreams come true.

the path leads directly to the door of the US Embassy in Mexico City where you can fill out an application and wait to come legally like everyone else
